It is only because I sympathize with businesses during this difficult time while navigating Covid restricts that I am giving Urgies a two star rating. Because our experience last night well deserves a one star response. I can not speak to the quality of the food, the beer, or the food service- as we were not given the opportunity to dine in. We came to see live music, while it is understandable that establishments can not allow standing room for attendees to enjoy the music, this establishment grossly mismanaged their space to accommodate anyone coming to see the music. They booked a party of 25+ people, seating them directly in front of the stage. The party was clearly not there for the musical entertainment and made it difficult for anyone wanting to see or hear the musician. In addition to this, there were no additional tables for seating, no option to stand at the bar, and despite there being amicable standing room even with 6 feet apart mandates- no option to stand and watch the band. The manager came and asked us to stand in the waiting area- which is a much more crowded space by the door that had a number of individuals passing in and out of, or to wait outside in 20 degree weather. Neither of those options gave us an option to see the band we came to see. This could have been easily remedied with a few adjustments made to the venue space and seating areas. I would caution any musician from booking at Urgies due to their clear lack of experience with venue management and crowd control. Ultimately they do not have a vested interest in supporting...
Read moreWent to lunch today at 10 minutes until 1pm. We ordered sodas as soon as we walked in as well as an order of pierogies as an appetizer. We were the only table there for our entire visit. We waited 35 minutes to receive our pierogies . Thirty-five…but they were delicious. We received our 2 cheesesteak sandwiches and 1 cheeseburger 10 minutes later and I personally was not that impressed. The sandwich came out on an untoasted roll, one thin slice of tomato laying on a piece of lettuce on a tray with two packets of mayo laying next to that. Um? Huh? The bread was dry, and the cheese was stuck like dried school glue to the steak like it had been sitting in the window for awhile. My friend stated that he paid $15 for a cheesesteak he had to build himself, chips and a drink and he wasn’t expecting what he got. I asked my other friend how his burger was and he said cardboard with ketchup and cheese. “The fries are amazing though!”he said. By this time it was now 2 o’clock. Closing time. WHATTA ya do? There’s not much you CAN do. You can notice that this wasn’t the place you had hoped for, leave a review and move on. I will say that our waitress was very personable but very busy doing lots of...
Read moreTony and I went to get a "Great Cheese steak" and the food was Great. I was a little surprised that there was NO designated parking for the restaurant. Finding on street parking was a challenge since we were not from the area. But a little walk doesn't kill you and definitely needed it after we ate.
We went in and opted to eat inside the restaurant instead of the outside dining area. The outside dining was nice with tables and overhead roof. Inside was nicely air conditioned. There was about 4 tables with bar stool seating. Full bar and Tony's favorite PBR on tap
We ordered the Urgie's Special 12" Cheese Steak Hoagie with Route 11 Chips and we ordered Peorgies with fried onions and sour cream. The food was very good. We shared everything. I asked for BBQ sauce for my sandwich but didn't need it. The sandwich was very spicy. First time with Pepperoni on cheese steak but it was good
We would definitely eat here again and recommend to others! Great atmosphere Great friendly staff and great food! Gender neutral bathrooms and no parking were negatives. I just didn't like the dirty urinal in...
