My son and his father’s cousin is the co-owner of this beautiful cafe. Let me start off by saying, we’re from a part of PA that has little to no culture, so while we were visiting family for the holidays I wanted to experience as much as we could, including supporting Semilla Cafe, which celebrates black and brown cultures. The atmosphere was filled with amazing vibes, and great coffee. I highly recommend the coconut latte, the most smooth and delicious latte I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying, my son had the ovaltine hot chocolate, and drank every last sip. I also tried their newest drink, The Mookie, and it was to die for. The service, coffee, and vibes were immaculate, and I can’t wait to stop in on our next trip to CT. If you’re looking to support your local black owned businesses, and enjoy an affordable, delicious hand-crafted drink, this is your place to go! It’s in an amazing location, and you won’t be disappointed if you stop by. Let me not forget the ALL gender inclusive bathrooms… this place...
Read moreMy definition of a perfect cafe. Excellent coffee/lattes in a warm, cozy artistic atmosphere. Every staff member I've interacted with were polite, informative and quick! They also serve food and pastries, all which are reasonably priced alongside their beverage selection. I absolutely love the fact that they have a free mini library where you can take a book as long as you leave one behind, and they have an art supply room that's absolutely stacked with different types of supplies that you can take for free. It's a system that relies on donations, so feel free to drop some supplies off if you have any extras laying around. They also host events in the evening time such a spoken word, gallery displays, etc that you can easily keep track of by looking at their social media handles such as Instagram. Definitely check this cafe out if you're...
Read moreI found Semilla on Instagram after a few of my friends told me about it and I finally went and now I’m obsessed. This place literally feels like a hug. Their IG bio says it’s a “neighborhood living room” and that’s exactly what it is. It’s so cozy, the furniture is comfy, the books are such a nice touch, and there are so many cool things to look at. The vibe is just really beautiful and peaceful.
Everything I’ve tried has been amazing. I love that a lot of the sandwiches are on coco bread—it goes with everything. The baked goods are so good and the drinks are even better. My new hyper fixation is the iced coconut latte. I could drink it every day.
Also, the guys that work there are super friendly. This place is a whole...
