I had reservations about going here, but my family raved about the meats when they tried it during a visit. I believe they said it sourced locally at Duffs. Don't quote me on that.

But why reservations you may be asking, well simply put each time I visited the Invergrove location I felt like I might need too go fisty cuffs because the people were very rude. Not something I typically have an issue with living all along the rivers and refineries most of my life. For some reason I just never enjoyed this chain

This is Hastings though and Hastings usually does it right so I decided too forget the past an try it again.

I wish I had better news. Being take out there was no way too judge atmosphere. Yet I was disappointed on every front food wise.

No napkins, no silverware, no salad dressing and no crackers with soup. Rather odd too forget them all.

The soup was ok but lid nearly fell off in package, and it lacked meat. The salad was passable If it had not been incomplete. The waffle fries were the best item but no ketchup offered nor salt. The lemonade was good but very small.

The Reuben was the item the motivated a review. It lacked any sauce, and was burnt too charcoal. They buttered the toast and the meat inside was good but it should not have been served like that.

Too be fair it was a busy time late on a Sunday around the start of dinner. But even so I think forgetting so much and burning the main item deserves some comment.

The best I can give the experience is inconsistent or just incomplete.

I may try it again out of fairness on a weekday but I'm not sure.

I don't wish too be overly hard on them because I do like that they bring us some variety, I have fond memories of The Black Forest eating giant heaps of German food, so I'll harbor the hope we have something like that as...

Went to the Hastings Bierstube around 730/8pm. Ordered a mushroom app, burger, and hoagie. The food was pretty good for what you order. Mostly Bar food. They do offer steaks. The service is #1 issue. Our server Jesse was rude. There was no greeting, no smile, no thank you, and no checking on the customers. There were other customers who had to interrupt her hanging out with her friends at the bar, and playing with her phone to get pull tabs. Very distracted as the other servers were also on their phones. We were sitting at the bar and still couldn't get service. Not the first experience like this. Kind of why I don't go more frequently. Poor service is the theme here.

Gave it a second chance a few days later, had family come in from out of town to try the breakfeast buffet. The french toast sticks are chewy, really hard so I decided to order it to order, and that was really good. We couldn't get service for nothing. Had to ask 5x to get a glass of water. Asked for a picture eventually to avoid being ignored. It wasn't even busy. The cook was visually upset when the server brought back more orders. ordered a second round of french toast, it was not as before. This time there was hard pieces of something bitter inside the french toast. Not just mine, not just a little, a handfull of seeds. we both brought it to the attention of the server, and she said that its lemon seeds, they "use it keep the egg from turning green and rotting" ??????? She went back to the kitchen where the cooks were laughing, until the bartender guy went back and set them straight. They comped one of our meals, and gave a discount. There was honest effort to make up for the issue. I love their burgers and beer. I really want to like this place, but it Makes me wonder how fresh the...

The restaurant had balloons up for Valentines, which I thought was very nice. A patron, I’m guessing a regular, let us know we could sit wherever when we walked in which I found charming and funny. Came for lunch on a Saturday, and it seemed they would have benefited from having another server. It seemed like there was only 1, and she was having trouble getting back to checking in on all the tables. She was friendly though. When I enquirer about what kind of soda they had, I was told ā€œwe have just about everythingā€, which I also found amusing. The food was mediocre. We stopped here specifically for their German potato salad which had been recommended to us, and found it underwhelming. My husband really enjoyed the bratwurst and cabbage & gravy. He said the sauerkraut was ā€œjust okā€. I had the burger topped with bbq, coleslaw & onion rings. The burger was pretty good, but the ā€œonion ringsā€ were just burnt onions. I also received waffle fries instead of the onion rings I ordered because the waitress hadn’t written our order down, and seemed to have gotten that mixed up. (It’s always annoying when they don’t write down your order and then proceed to get something mixed up!) Just rating the food, I’d give it a 3/5. But because of the friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and friendly patrons, I’d say the whole...

Was in town visiting a friend, and ended up with a little time to kill, so I went here for lunch. The staff was friendly - especially our server, Mary - and they were both fast and helpful. Ordered the Reuben Eggrolls as my appetizer, which came out just about perfect. Hand rolled, crispy and tasty with a reuben sauce that was delicious and made in house. My main meal was the Grober Brat, which was a sauerkraut and swiss-stuffed bratwurst, bacon-wrapped and served on a kaiser roll with pickles and coleslaw and a side of onion rings. The brat was well grilled and bursting with flavor, the kraft and Swiss cheese really blending well with the other flavors present, and the portion was huge! The onion rings were a nice complement, crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. Will certainly go back the next time I'm in town to try more of the wonderful dishes on the menu!

It was my first time at the Bierstube in Hastings MN. Second visit for my partner. We enjoyed friendly and welcoming service from both our server and bartender. The adult beverages were satisfying and flavorful. We had their cheese curds and a big pretzel with beer cheese. Both were very tasty and served hot. Plentiful amounts are easily shared by two. I really enjoyed the beef brat smothered in sauerkraut, pickles, mustard. Had plenty of leftovers to take home. Prices were reasonable on both food and drinks. I highly recommend this sweet spot if you're looking for an exceptional German cuisine meal. Their menu does offer a wide selection of delicious sounding meal options.
