I’ve tried to ride Amtrak from HATTIESBURG to New Orleans two difficult times. First experience was 2018 I was to board at 4:30 on a Friday. I was getting delay messages every 30 minutes to an hour. The last delay was 12am. The train never showed. I called Amtrak they refunded me my money. The second experience was on February 15,2019 again the HATTIESBURG to New Orleans. Right away I was getting delays. The train was over 6 hours late. I end up having to drive. I called Amtrak and this time they would not refund my money. My advice is. But I have never checked my bags either because I travel lightly. Luckily on my last trip to Atlanta I had brought about $50 worth of cash with me, which I never do. But I was so happy I did.
