Panera Bread — Restaurant in Hattiesburg

This evening at 6 pm, we 5 went to this Panera location. LOUSY does not begin to describe the experience. Not well lit should have been first clue. Order taken, after a wait, were told they were out of the requested item. Switched to French onion soup, called back and asked what kind of onion Soup? They only have one. Watered down with no cheese or croutons, horrible. As we WAITED for the order we had to clean our own table as we noticed no tables were being sanitized much less cleaned. My panini was hard as a rock, couldn't eat it bad. Requested the .99 cent pastry after the order was paid for, well NO WAY it has to be ordered up front. Racks of bread were visible in the kitchen. A lot to be tossed or sell day old bakery items. We, together, made a vow to never return to this...

I headed in to this panera around 1130 in an effort to beat the big lunch rush. The line went quickly as they were operating enough cashiers to handle to volume of customer traffic. Once I ordered my food was out in less than 5 minutes from my reckoning and was delicious. The simple turkey sandwich was good and quick, but a little something to be desired in terms of flavor, but my cream of chicken and wild rice bread bowl made up for it. Their bread bowls are fantastic and I wish they offered clam chowder more often, but that is just a personal preference. I have only ever been to a Panera one other time and wasn’t really keen on it but decided to try again! I ordered Mac and cheese as a side, not only did it take 30 minutes to get my food. The Mac and cheese was ice cold. Literally ice cold. I brought it back to see if they could heat it up or get me a fresh one and they told me there was a microwave in the front. A microwave to heat up the food I just waited 30 minutes for and was $20. I just think that’s quite ridiculous and food shouldn’t be ice cold.
