Bangkok Villa Hilo — Restaurant in Hawaii

We ordered the fresh rolls (shrimp). They were great! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. It was fantastic. Full of chicken, perfect consistency. The pineapple was obviously fresh and super ripe. It came with a bowl of white rice. I loved my dish. We also had ordered chicken pad Thai. They said it was good but just good. Lacked a bit of flavor I guess? Overall we enjoyed it. Parking is free street parking. Went on a Monday night and there was plenty. You order at the window and tell them if you’re taking it to go or staying. There is covered seating outdoors to the right. Owners son served us. Made sure we had drinks and everything we needed. They were friendly and attentive. The guy working today had horrible service with no Aloha or smiles. Nothing like my people in Thailand. Im kinda embarrassed. I ordered and ask for spicy. I got the mild. And I ordered something that is generally served with rice. I didn't any nor did he asked me if I would like a side of rice if the location sold it separately. I would have gladly paid for it. My whole experience was unfortunately. I was excited to give some business to my own people. I can't...

Not the most pleased with my experience.

My tofu pad kaprao was pleasantly spicy as I requested, but I struggled to find much else going on with the flavor.

The fairly scant portion for the price compared with the competition in town, and the lukewarm treatment I got at the window, did not help sell me on returning either.
