I see why this place has such low stars. I walked in to get 2 orders of hot and sour soup and the place was empty. They'd just opened less than an ago, so that didn't surprise me. However, once I got to the counter and noticed the two women working there, who'd noticed me as well, neither of them spoke or even acknowledged my presence. One was writing something and the other woman was talking to her. I smiled and said "Hello." The one writing looked up again briefly before returning to her writing and gave a very flippant "Hello." You would think the next question would have been "How may I help you?" or "May I take your order?" But nope, absolute silence. I should have just turned on my heels and left in that moment but I think the momentary shock held me in my place. Writer chick looks up at me again and this time I look at her, still smiling, like "I'd LIKE to place an order if you don't mind." She slowly moves to the counter and says "What you want?" GEEZ.I put in my order and writer chick walks over to input it into the system while talking, very obviously, about me to the other woman behind the counter. It was so blatantly rude and disrespectful. I asked how long they would be and she told me that it would be about 20 mins. So I walk back to the front of the restaurant, which is not very appetizing because they really need to invest in a vacuum, to wait on my order. Immediately, the two ladies and another woman start to laugh and talk loudly in their language looking in my direction. Why do people think that just because they are speaking a different language, people don't clearly understand they are being talked about? Their place feels as if there is no air conditioning and they require masks to be worn, so I decided to go to my car and wait on my order in air conditioning. In fact, I am writing this review from my car lol! I go back in to get my order and greet them with a loud and friendly, "Hello!" to which they chimed "Hello" back. Before anyone could get conveniently distracted again, I told them I was there to pick up my order. Writer chick comes from around the counter after mumbling something to the other counter lady and passes me as she heads to the table directly behind me. She takes something off of the package and says, "There," as she walks off. No "Enjoy!" or "Thank you, have a great day!"...nothing. I thank her for my order and turn to say, "Have you ever heard of Yelp?" She stopped and looked stunned and simultaneously irritated that I had decided to speak to her. She said "Huh?" "Yelp. Y-E -L -P" I said. "You should check your reviews. They're pretty bad." She had already disregarded me and turned to go to the kitchen, but I bet she'll Google Yelp lol. There are much better places to go with A-1 service and better tasting food. Take a hard pass on this and try one of those places instead. You can...
Read moreI can only tell you that this place did not meet my expectations and that I experienced some of the negative things mentioned in yelp reviews about this restaurant. I had dinner with my Ohana. We were served primarily by an older Asian man I presume he was the manager or owner cause he looked the part. He took our order, served some of the food, and made certain that he collected the payment after the meal. I ordered enough food to serve two separate tables of our party. You expect the food to be served at the same time, on both tables but that wasn't the case. Our 2nd table got served some of the same dishes minutes after the 1st table was served and set to begin eating. The food was unexceptional. We also witnessed a commotion in progress with a very unhappy customer. It was loud and unpleasant. One of the comments I heard from the customer to the staff was "your laughing at me doesn't help things and this situation" Appears to be a lack of customer and management service skills. Lastly, the server guy brought my check back to be signed by me, with his tip already entered on the tip line. The tip he entered absolutely did NOT reflect the service or the dining experience. My money was NOT well spent. I learned the hard way and won't be returning unless another restaurant opens here. Try the many other great dining options in the near vicinity or just a few...
Read moreWalked in and ordered the crispy chicken on cake noodle, pineapple shrimp and crispy gau gee, for takeout. $36. Tried a gau gee as soon as I picked up my order (10 minutes after I placed it). The gau gee wasn’t even hot, and tasted way too salty. Got home to find a tiny little box of sauce with literally 6 canned pineapple chunks, to pour onto the heavily breaded shrimp. Needless to say, that was definitely not enough sauce to cover the shrimp. I don’t think that would have been enough sauce to even single dip the shrimp! Disappointed? Yes. Not as disappointed as I was when I got to the cake noodle, however. I swear the cake noodle had even less sauce than the shrimp. The cake noodle was so dry and hard that it was inedible, even the parts that had sauce on it (which was only the bottoms of some pieces). The only thing that tasted decent in the whole order was the crispy chicken on top of the cake noodle. These are hard times for everyone, and we do our best to support local restaurants, but these restaurants need to support local as well by ensuring they provide value and quality for our hard-earned money. Never. Coming....
