KFC — Restaurant in Hawaii

Absolutely terrible. The portion size of everything was so tiny that It took me four spoonfuls to finish my order of mashed potatoes and gravy.

We paid extra for some white meat, and the breast was so small that it must have come from a quail. KFC is usually overcooked, but the breasts were so overcooked that neither my partner nor I wanted to finish the last one even though we were both still hungry.

Over $40 for a tiny portion of food. The few positive things I can say is that the biscuits were pretty good and worth the price. The coleslaw was quite tasty, but again, we only got a tiny portion. The chicken "tenders" were so small and about as tender as shoe leather, but edible and the taste was decent.

You'd be much better off driving across the street and going to get the big, juicy, delicious chicken tenders from Safeway, along with a box of instant potatoes, a pouch of gravy mix, and then stop at KFC to get some biscuits. It would cost much less and you'd get a lot more, tastier food.

The pic below is their idea of a serving size of mashed potatoes and gravy. If I worked there, I would be embarrassed to be serving this to customers for the prices they charge.

Easily the worst food at the most expensive price I've had since I moved back to Hilo. Bad fast food at gourmet prices.

UPDATE: KFC said that they would get in touch with me and never bothered. I guess there's nothing they can really do since they've decided to just rip off us Hawaiian residents. I was in Ohio this last week and we had KFC and the food was good, the portion size was at least 10x that of Hawaii, and the price for the exact same meal was almost $20 less. ($31 vs $47.)

KFC is one of our go to place, for a quick meal when we are running for an errands for the day, despite couple of bad experiences we had, we are still coming back, last night i was in Hilo town and I was late coming home and obviously have no time to prepare food, but my stopped to this KFC is another regret for me, never fail I said... we either served with wrong order, missing some order or overcharged with order, twas upsetting.. the fact that you won't know what you got if that is the right food until you got home, its disappointing, more so if you are hungry that ruined your appetite, our previous experiences it only keeps filing up in various ocassions, this time my order was simple 12 pcs. Chicken Wings but I ended up coming home with 10pcs. nothing on it but spicy which i didnt ordered spicy, to be honest 2pcs Wings missing it isn't really the big issue, the issue is that pay more attention to what these people are doing we all know that prices are climbing sky high in anywhere you turn around specially in ordering food therefore they have to satisfy customers for the money that they're paying for, I understand we make mistakes but please prevent it from occasional occurences one mistakes is enough because regardless we as consumers had no choice paying for the price, therefore we deserved to get the right food for what we paid for, so to make this short story, as I was as disappointed and hungry shortly when I got home I tried calling KFC someone answered and hung up, I then dialed back and the phone stayed busy. What a customer service. . I think this is my last draw for me, this time im feed up with people that aren't committed for quality service, shouldn't be working there if they can't function right, I wouldn't recommend KFC never anymore, poor service,...

I am and always will be a big fan of KFC. However, when I asked specifically for a breast and leg original 2 piece meal, I assumed that's what I would get. That did not happen at all. I got half, yes, half of a breast and a shriveled dry thigh. That was just the aftermath. Initially, the employee taking the order was short with me and dismissive. I still was not deterred from eating the meal I desired after working 28 hrs straight. So I proceeded to take the meal after it was semi-tossed to me. Yet still, I was not deterred from wanting to taste the meal that I so coveted. I am down the highway stuck in traffic when I reached for the goodness that is KFC and I find the mangled food I spent good money on. It would have been different if I said I was just upset. I was insulted by the employee, then disappointed by the meal. I would say just do better, but I truly believe from my core that this location does not actually care. Will I come back? Yes!
