Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed the pleasant decor and the great view of the bay. On the day we visited, the restaurant wasn't too busy but I expect that this place is much busier at dinner time.
The food was alright, it wasn't bad but wasn't anything memorable either. It didn't take long for our food to be prepared after ordering. Portions were about what to expect. We ordered beer to drink, so I can't really say how good their mixed drinks are here.
The decor of the restaurant fit the bay side theme. The space is open air but does have a covered roof. The table and area around it were clean. The restrooms were also clean. It appears that the space is properly maintained. The view of the bay was quite enjoyable. The breeze was especially nice during the warm part of the afternoon.
It's hard to describe the service. One of the servers appeared to be quite friendly and very efficient as the table next to us with more guests were sat after we arrived and had a full lunch and paid their bill before our food even arrived. Our server was somewhat distant, not particularly rude but not exactly friendly either. We were sat at the table and then it was a full 10 minutes before she came to take our drink order. After the drinks were delivered she did not take our food order for almost another 10 minutes. When we were finished we had to go find her to get our check as we had been finished for at least 15 minutes and we needed to get to an appointment.
The prices were similar to other restaurants in this area, but the value here isn't as good as the others. If the service was a little better and the quality of the food was improved just a little, it would go a long way to...
Read moreCustomer service wise, the three female servers/employees who worked the night of Thursday, June 20, 2019 @ 1930 (730pm) aren’t deserving of one star divided amongst them. That’s how poor the customer service was that we received. Two servers attended a couple two tables up from us as well as the table of three next to us and NEVER even said hi, we’ll be with you momentarily or ANY type of greeting to acknowledge we were patrons in their restaurant. We didn’t even get a bye as we left and the female worker in a blue Hawaiian print top with extremely short shorts on looked me directly in my face. {We sat in there for 13 minutes (I received a text when we sat down and I looked at the time upon us leaving.)} The restaurant was not too busy for an acknowledgment and the waitress on the floor continued to deliberately walk pass our table to assist other patrons.
Went across the way to “WELCOME TO PARADISE” and there, I experienced what customer service is and should be. Sam (the only server on the floor) although busy, exemplified what GREAT customer service was and he did the simplest thing: acknowledged we were patrons at his establishment. The three little girl servers (by character because they were well pass adult age especially the waitress on the floor who should’ve been serving us) could take lessons from Sam at “WELCOME TO PARADISE” about customer service. I’m BIG on customer service and there is a lack of it at kona canoe club. This establishment has pricing on their menu of $300-$365 but the service ISN’T worth a penny with a hole in it. THANKS again “WELCOME TO PARADISE” for having quality people with a...
