Lani Tea House — Restaurant in Hawaii

Today, I had a pretty ridiculous experience at this boba shop. I’m visiting from CA and have been getting boba here every day this week. I always order EXTRA BOBA, and today I did the same. When I received my “extra boba” milk tea, there was only a small amount of boba, even less than usual, so I asked the staff, “Is this really EXTRA BOBA?” One of the blonde girls working there said, “Oh yes, we scoop the boba with a spoon, so it is.” I replied, “Are you sure? I always order extra boba here and it’s never like this.” Then she apologized and said, “Oh sorry, we’re out of boba, so that’s all we have.” I then said, “But I paid for extra boba.” She started saying, “If you want, I can give you the money back, maybe in coins, blah blah.”

It is super weird because no one told me they had run out of boba but still charged me for extra. They didnt even say anything until I asked them. This was a really bad experience, and I hope the owner won’t let staff treat customers like this...

If you ask my friends, you’d learn quickly how much I love Boba. I really enjoyed Lani Tea House! Kona doesn’t have a lot of shop like this so it’s cool to see one open and get started. I loved seeing the Online Ordering capabilities with the DoorDashers coming in and out with orders. I sat at one of their tables, admiring their simple yet fun decor. I ordered a Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba, it was delicious! The boba is top quality. As they are just getting open, there were boxes with equipment in places that would be considered an eye-sore but WHO CARES?! The music was good, service was quaint, and boba was bomb. Very great drinks, love the blue sky so much, especially topped with cheese foam. The best lemonade so very good, i love it so much, best customer service. 10/10 would come again. Would give more stars if could, my daughter loves this place, if your a fan of chocolate, ovaltine is the best for you. My great grandma also loves this place, she loves the mango rice yogurt.
