I called my order in last night at 1703. I was told that it would be ready in 30 minutes as they were really busy. As I can understand when a business is busy, (and being a new business in Kona, that is a good thing), I went and ran some errands and arrived at the restaurant at 1742. Upon arrival, I was told it would be ready in 12 minutes. My pie was finally ready 15 minutes later. When I reached the counter and one of the young kids (out of the 3) rang me up, I simply told him “You guys need to get better on the estimation on when orders will be ready. It has been nearly an hour since I called in my order and I still had to wait.” The employee that rang me up stepped back and another stepped forward and told me that my pie was on the house. He then also tried to correct me on the time that my order came in. While I appreciate receiving my order on the house, it was the final comment from the employee as I was leaving that was extremely uncalled for! As I was walking out of the restaurant, the employee stated to my back, “Have a nice day....and don’t come back again.” Your employee(s) need to learn a bit of customer service and respect. I was in no way rude with my comment, it was a simple suggestion. And appearing from prior reviews, waiting is one that other people have had issues with as well. But don’t EVER tell a customer “DON’T COME BACK AGAIN.” In addition, while waiting for my pie, the 3 young men need to be aware that everything they say and do can be seen and heard by all in the restaurant. A little more professionalism couldn’t hurt. Kona needs all the new businesses it can get; however, it is a small town and word travels fast when it comes to extreme inappropriate service such as I...
Read moreThis review is for my last two experiences trying to order at Kona Crust. I’ve occasionally bought pizzas, slices and dough since they opened, while the wait had been at times very long even for ordered called in ahead, we’ve kept going because the kids love the pizza and we try to support local. This being said… Last November I called a day ahead to order a few pizzas for my son’s birthday. I called the day before to see if I could come by at 11am (when they open) to pick them up. I was told no that wasn’t possible. I would have to call at 11 to place the order. Knowing how long the wait can be, we ended up ordering from Dominos the day of the party so the kids could have lunch not to late. It was a morning party with 5year olds, and I didn’t want them to be starving and cranky by noon. Then we his week I went to get some pizza dough, I got a flat out no from the lady. They don’t have enough. Okay, I get it, but she could have offered a time when I could come back, but she pretty much dismissed me. I have flour and yeast at home, I made my own. It seems the owner has opened several locations on the island, but in doing so has spread himself and his staff thin. And from some of the local Facebook groups, the experience at Kona Crust isn’t what it used to be, the pizzas are being undercooked and sparse with topping, not to mention the wait (which most of us can forgive). Tourists come and go, but once locals start going elsewhere (which they are since people were asking for other pizza recommendations), that business...

I had the WORST customer service experience ever at Kona Crust Pizza! 😡 Let me tell you what happened. So, I walked into the restaurant with $60 in my pocket, ready to indulge in some delicious pizza. But guess what? They denied me! 😱 Can you believe it? And here's the kicker - there were only THREE people in the entire restaurant!
When I asked why they couldn't take my order, they had the audacity to tell me that they were "extremely backed up" and were supposed to stop taking orders 2 minutes before I walked in. Seriously? They couldn't spare a few minutes to help a hungry customer who was willing to spend $60?
This is beyond frustrating. I can't believe they would treat a paying customer like this. Kona Crust Pizza, you're losing out on so much money by turning away customers who genuinely want to support your business. 🤦♀️
I hope the management of Kona Crust Pizza sees this review and realizes the huge mistake they're making. Don't let your hard-earned money go to waste at a place with such terrible customer service. Spread the word and let's make sure no one else has to go through what I did! #KonaCrustPizza #WorstCustomerService...
