Homey Mexican restaurant in Hawthorne with generous portions and cheap drinks. Came here on a Sunday for an early dinner with my parents and was seated immediately. Indoor dining only (no outdoor options). Takeout/delivery is also available. They provide free tostadas and mild salsa; I would recommend asking for the molcajete salsa which is spicier. Parking is available in the small lot. Credit cards are accepted. There are single occupant restrooms available. The wet burrito with carnitas gave me life after a weekend in Vegas. They do put sour cream and guac on top in addition to the salsa. I had leftovers for the next day and they kept well. The strawberry margarita and the michelada are quite large and both were under $10, which was great. The straw for the michelada had a tamarind coating too, which was tasty. The tacos had a generous portion of meat and I particularly liked the al pastor. Overall, it’s a solid spot to grab cheap dine-in Mexican food.

Ok so Im rating this restaurant based on one dish that I have order at other locations and I was completely shocked to find out how they serve it at this particular place. I ordered the shrimp tostadas to go. Once I got home I was terrified to find out that my shrimp tostadas looked more like a purée of shrimp. To be honest I don’t know if it’s even shrimp cuz I couldn’t taste it. I guess there’s different ways to make shrimp tostada but every time I’ve order it at different spots they always use chunks of shrimp but here it looks like purée of shrimp. I’m so disappointed and disgusted at the same time. Can’t believe I wasted money on this.

Was recommended highly by Angelenos, long story short, not at all what I expected. They literally forgot about our table to help out some I guess "VIP" member who comes in all the time. At the end, we got up and decided to help ourselves to find someone to pay for our order and leave the establishment. Food, let's just say, I had the chicken quesadilla and almost immediately threw it up. I guess it is how they cook their foods that my stomach just couldn't stomach.

I LIVED IN THE 90250 FOR MANY YEARS AND ALWAYS DROVE PAST THIS SPOT BUT NEVER STOPPED. UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO, AND IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE EVER MADE! THEIR BURRITOS ARE THE BEST THEIR SHREDDED BEEF IS SPECTACULAR! THEIR POSOLE DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED (I'M GETTING HUNGRY JUST TYPING THIS). BUT WHAT MAKES ME LOVE COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE ON THE WEEKENDS AND SOMETIMES A FEW DAYS OUT THE WEEK IS THE STAFF!!! THEY ARE WELCOMING THEY KNOW MY MOM AND MY NAME!! THEY CALL ME FAMILY THIS PLACE IS THE FIRST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER WENT TO WHERE I FELT LIKE I'M HELPING MY FAMILY KEEP THEIR RESTAURANT IN BUSINESS!! THE WHOLE STAFF IS BEYOND FRIENDLY AND LOVING. I'VE HAD 1 PROBLEM AND I CALLED BACK AND THEY TOLD ME " HEY TELL YOUR MOM I SAID SORRY I FORGOT TO GIVE HER THE PINA COLADA, COME IN TOMORROW AND I'LL HAVE YOU YOUR ORDER COMPLETE " EVERYTHING WAS TAKEN CARE OF WITH LOVE AND KINDNESS!! I'LL COME TO THIS PLACE UNTIL I FALL OFF...

I hate to say this but this wasn't really authentic Mexican food. I'm originally from Zacatecas México and I didn't see the foods that I grew up eating. I didn't see the Dulce de tuna, Condoche (gorditas Zacatecanas) Gorditas de papa con chorizo. the horchata didn't have cinnamon sticks it looked identical to the ones from Guatemala. If you guys are calling yourselves a restaurant named after a Mexican state please do your research and have all the foods and Horchata be similar to the ones from Zacatecas. Honestly I was disappointed and my family was disappointed too. And oh the tamales were dried and not fresh. The tortas cubanas were good but they're not from Zacatecas. They're from Cuba. The tamales have to have spices and be juicy in order for them to have moist and texture that us true Mexicans love. Us Mexicans love Spicey tamales not dried up tamales. Please improve on...
