Homey Mexican restaurant in Hawthorne with generous portions and cheap drinks. Came here on a Sunday for an early dinner with my parents and was seated immediately. Indoor dining only (no outdoor options). Takeout/delivery is also available. They provide free tostadas and mild salsa; I would recommend asking for the molcajete salsa which is spicier. Parking is available in the small lot. Credit cards are accepted. There are single occupant restrooms available.
The wet burrito with carnitas gave me life after a weekend in Vegas. They do put sour cream and guac on top in addition to the salsa. I had leftovers for the next day and they kept well. The strawberry margarita and the michelada are quite large and both were under $10, which was great. The straw for the michelada had a tamarind coating too, which was tasty. The tacos had a generous portion of meat and I particularly liked the al pastor. Overall, it’s a solid spot to grab cheap dine-in...

Read moreI hate to say this but this wasn't really authentic Mexican food. I'm originally from Zacatecas México and I didn't see the foods that I grew up eating. I didn't see the Dulce de tuna, Condoche (gorditas Zacatecanas) Gorditas de papa con chorizo. the horchata didn't have cinnamon sticks it looked identical to the ones from Guatemala. If you guys are calling yourselves a restaurant named after a Mexican state please do your research and have all the foods and Horchata be similar to the ones from Zacatecas. Honestly I was disappointed and my family was disappointed too. And oh the tamales were dried and not fresh. The tortas cubanas were good but they're not from Zacatecas. They're from Cuba. The tamales have to have spices and be juicy in order for them to have moist and texture that us true Mexicans love. Us Mexicans love Spicey tamales not dried up tamales. Please improve on...
