Greeting- par
Service - inexcusably rude, and inattentive
Entree: Ordered a "House Sirloin (9oz)" sirloin, with "roma pepper" trimmings, 86-pots, sub steamed vegetables.
Received- (supposedly) 9oz (?) sirloin, marinated roma tomato topping... and this is where Applebee's service ended, and was replaced by an arrogant, and disrespectful bartender named Sara.
After I was presented with my plate by some hippie (without asking if it was to order), I waited patiently for his conversation to end with two other patrons. After said conversation ended with said hippie, he was of no assistance, as he was predisposed to another area.
Enter Sara, the bartender who took my order, screwed it up, interrupted me TWICE before I could explain what was wrong with my dinner.
After I was so rudely interrupted the 2nd time, I made it very apparent that I had nothing further to say to someone who wasn't listening, and had no desire to hear any audible contribution from the audacity that is Sara's mouth.
Even after I CLEARLY INSTRUCTED Sara that I wanted to hear nothing further, she insisted upon saying "I can fix it".
I continued to eat my "Signature Sirloin (7oz)", with the potatoes I did not want, and devoid of the steamed vegetables I requested.
Note: Said hippie stated "Signature Sirloin (7oz)" as he placed my meal.
Other complaints: The supposed "artichoke and cheese stuffed portobello mushroom" had been pressed flat, and topped (not stuffed) with artichoke only (no cheese to be found).
I live in Wytheville, VA of all places. A little country town with an Applebee's of far greater service, respect, and expediency.
I know what great Applebee's service is. I feel it is quite sad to receive such sub-standard service at an establishment who's name is well known for such a higher degree of expectation.
"Sarah P" had my meal comped, only charging for my drink.
I don't want a discount.
I want what I ordered, as it was ordered, with any discrepancies handled with respect, without interruption to my concerns, and a proper apology.
The apology came after I approached the manager, requesting that my ticket be restored to full price. A whole new definition of "sorry" is now in play, as he could not follow the simple instruction, citing: "it would be too much trouble".
Apparently, it's also too much trouble to hire (or train) bartenders with the PREREQUISITE traits their parents should have taught them by the age of four (don't interrupt, pay attention, etc.).
Needless to say, should I ever feel the need to purchase a 9oz "Roma Pepper" steak from Applebee's, it WILL NOT be here.
I hope next time the service will be up to Applebee's standards (ie. received as ordered, or attentively and respectfully...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would! Absolute worst service we’ve ever had there and that includes the management that was on duty! We ordered and sat and watched tables that came in after us get their appetizers and salads! Finally asked a waiter walking by because ours was nowhere to be found so he went to check! Finally our waitress shows up and says our appetizers are almost done! Still we sat! Then here comes our nasty COLD, DRY BURNT FOOD! Still no sign of appetizers or the salad! My grandsons cheeseburger was burnt and his fries were cold and soggy grease soaked! Our alfredo was dry and cold! Manager comes over and apologizes and says she’ll get the appetizers right to us if we still want them! I simply said well since the waitress told us 10 minutes ago they were almost done I’m guessing we are getting them! My husband took one bite of his Alfredo and told her it was dry and disgusting so to just cancel our whole order! She tells us she’ll bring more Alfredo sauce so than we sit and wait with our already cold food for the Alfredo sauce so we can attempt to choke our meal down! When we finally got appetizers we thought ok at least this will be hot and fresh!! WRONG! Even the appetizers were cold and nasty! Oh and let’s not forget the burnt chicken that came with our Alfredo or the soggy brocoli! Thank god the manager did comp our meal because it wasn’t worth paying $1.00 for! The worst part for us though was the way the waitress went and checked on all her other tables and completely ignored us like we weren’t even there! The manager simply said oh sorry for this like it was no big deal and never saw her again! We thought we were gonna sit there all night waiting for our ticket until I finally asked the waitress as she tried to sneak by us for boxes and our ticket! Than she tells us they took care of our ticket! No refills on drinks offered or anything! Oh and it’s really disgusting watching your waitress stand down by the kitchen eating food than lick her fingers and go out on the floor to check...
Read moreOrdered a meal for delivery through the Applebee's website (not through a third part like door dash). They contracted my delivery out to a service, the Applebee's website Order Tracker said it was delivered even though it was not. There was no way to dispute the delivery or instructions on what to do in this situation. I called the restaurant and was told (politely) that they don't have anything to do with delivery and have no way of helping.
While I understand that the failure is on the delivery service, any restaurant that allows ordering and tracking through their own website needs to take responsibility for the delivery of the food that they accept payment for. At the very least they need to clearly lay out the procedure for addressing failed delivery's and offer some kind of recompense to the customer. The store didn't even know which company they had used to deliver the food.
If I order something from Uber Eats and it doesn't show up, that isn't the restaurants fault. But when I order directly from the restaurant and am not instructed to interact any other company or service, the restaurant is the responsibility party. They can't just say "oh that's not our problem and we don't don't even have any idea what happened or what to...
