We went to this Dairy Queen on the way home on my son's 12th birthday for a treat after a fun day out (Sunday, Jan. 28). We decided to go in because we were new at ordering. We wanted to get chicken strips and blizzards, but I couldn't justify paying $10.77 for a four piece chicken strips meal. So we decided to just order two large blizzards, a small dipped cone for a person at home, onion rings, and cheese curds to go. We were told there weren't any cheese curds, so we opted for fries. The order came out to $30, and some change. Outrageous in my opinion. We also saw an order be taken to a table that had cheese curds on the tray after we ordered.
There was only one other customer/group (or maybe two) in the restaurant. No line at the register. I was handed the dipped cone first, and the blizzards came out a little while later with a less than half enthused employee performing the famous blizzard flip over. The fries and onion rings took so long that the dipped cone was now leaning over, and the top pockets of the cone were full of melted ice cream. I just couldn't believe fries and onion rings took that long in a fast food place. We had a six minute drive home, and the cone was dripping through the napkins and down my hand. I was very disappointed with the whole thing, but kept smiling for the kids.
I will only order blizzards from now on IF we ever go back to Dairy Queen, which doesn't seem likely.
The kids loved the cookie dough and oreo blizzards. The fries and onion rings were fresh (they better have been for how long they took) and did taste good, but definitely overpriced and...
Read moreI ordered a mint choclate chip blizzard. He first one was mint and chocolate swirled? I said this isn't right, I asked for chocolate chips. The girl closed the window and said she needed a new one and another girl asked why and she said I don't know so I got the same thing again...? I had my husband pull through the the drive thru and I walked inside and said I wanted the chocolate chips. I have had them at surrounding dairy queens and they said oh ok we know what you are talking about and then they came back with one that was done with the cone hardening chocolate and I said that this still wasn't the chips and they said that they were out.... You think they would have just said that because they've now tried to give me 3 different blizzards. I asked for a Heath in stead and it was made correctly. However it was soupy just like my husbands banana split one that he ordered and both of our cups had holes in them and kept leaking in out car. I was excited for this DQ to come in, but I am VERY disappointed in the workers and we will most...
Read moreUpdate to previous review: I stopped here again. (They are next to Walmart and I hate grocery shopping hungry). I ordered a lunch combo with chicken strips this time. A young kid, possibly named Noah, waited on me. He was quick, super polite and brought my order to the table fast. My food was hot and fresh and the sundae was perfect. Now that's the DQ I remember from when I was a kid. Complete turn around from my previous review. The only reason I'm not giving all 5 stars is because of the previous bad experience.
They need to train the young girl at the front counter with long dark hair. She couldn't put my order (or the customer behind me) in to the register. I never got a receipt. I had to tell her multiple times it was 'to go'. She forgot my drink. She forgot my sundae. When my food was done, it sat in the window getting cold, while she did nothing with her back to the window. I waited over 20 minutes for a $5 lunch combo consisting of a hamburger, fries, drink and sundae. I could have cooked this at home...
