My wife and I should have known this was going to be a turbulant ride when the 100 lb. hostess had to pull the 200lb table ALL the way out, just so we could sit down. And we are not big people. Heck, the two elderly couples seated next to us waited 20 minutes to be "released" from being behind hostages.
Well, I guess I'll just start at the beginning. 1st) Were set up with a comp from our casino host, which means we're "had" every intention of leaving a blurr than generous gratuity. See where this is going? After being seated, and informed of the team of staff that would be caring for us that evening, we didn't see a sole for almost 5 minutes. Had it not been for the busboy, I think his name was Chris, this dining experience would have been 100% horrible. So it was only 98% unbearable. I must have stared at ther wine list for a good 15 minutes without anyone asking if they could make suggestions. Finally, when our "server" and I use the term loosely, came by and I asked him some questions, his response was, " do you wanna talk to the Som?" No, einstein, I want you to suggest something, that's why I asked.
I finally ordered a cabernet, and when it was served, it was as if it was in the refrigerator. I asked the manager why the red wine was so cold, he informed me that the wine is kept in a controlled environment. He actually said, "room temperature in Vegas is very hot." I'm sorry Mr. Restauranteur, but we're weren't in a room in Vegas that wasn't controlled, we were in an, allegedly high end restaurant with an extensive, way overpriced wine list. My Cab should not taste like it's been on ice for hours. And please don't ever again offer to run it under hot water. Holy amateur hour!! And we haven't even gotten bread yet, which they refused to provide until we actually ordered something. When I commented on the wine to one of our servers, he actually told us we weren't the first to mention that. Problem, ya think?
When they wanted to take our order, we're weren't sure on entrees, so i thought we could enjoy a couple appetizers and a salad to start. Server offered to take full order and said he would course it.... as if i wanted everything at once. So i let him rush us. So much so, that when i ordered just the two apps and a caesar salad, they of course, completely forget our salad. Finally let them take our entree order, and was surprised they didn't have any specials for the evening. We then over heard the exceptional service they were giving the 8 top across from us, I just had to ask about the specials they were offered. Response: "Oh, did you want to hear the specials?" No, provide me the second class service, while you kiss the ass of the table your getting an automatic gratuity from.
Entrees came, without having my salad, and the special Seabass and Prawns they had and my wife ordered was delivered was so dry, I was able to pick up one corner and the whole thing came up without flaking apart and the Prawns were so overcooked, they would have bounced off the floor. Believe me, I thought about it. My NY Steak Au Poirve was not that at all. It was just a NY with a black pepper coating. When I questioned about the Brandy Peppercorn Sauce, their response, "That's how WE do it." I've got a suggestion, if you don't do it the traditional way, inform the guest and don't charge $6 for a seasoned steak. They then offered to bring out a peppercorn sauce, that would have been nice when I first ordered it. So the GM comes back out, literally 60 seconds later, obviously with someone else's Seabass. And this guy, who looked like a throw back 1980's game show host with the most phony smile ever, never even came back to check to make sure it was done correctly. Even my steak was oddly cooked. First half was just as ordered, perfect medium rare... the other half was medium to medium well, as if only half the grill was turned on. Now, I know we're had a comp, but it was only up to a certain amount. And after all that, and the ridiculously over cooked Seabass, they still charged us for the Special. You'd...
Read moreDetails included but summary - Food was good and the menu was upgraded a month ago and there is lots of good verity to discover. Yes I will come again and a nice visit with manager Carlo saved the day. That’s the roses 🌹 🌹💕 Now the thorns: Waiter started with this rushed tempo when we had opening reservations eg he did not have but us for the first 40 min. We even told him slow down, we are not in a hurry (went to see Dead Pool and it was A1 Great 😊! ) so we planned for a 2-hour meal. It was good and pic(s) to follow. But the waiter is one of those I been here 20-years and must have told us that 6-times. If you been at something that long, your professional service should show it, you don”t need to tell people. Your light shines on its own…. unless your service is bad and it was. This guy had zero self assessment skills and thus no ability to change his 20-year course. He was sharp with words and would say things like “as I told you before ..” I even told him this was going to be a Google Review another words pay attention to service but no he was only going to come to the table if their was food to bring. Add this this … wheels by a cart with a HUGE Lobster 🦞 Tail . It was impressive! And says “Too bad you’re not going to get this on your review.” Now that was just ugly ! I got the pictures anyway for you… so you can see. This waiter was evenly matched not in a good way.l with his Server Assistant. Ordered a sangria specifically asked if they would add what ever fruit they had into it … it come back with clear wine and no fruit, I ask him and he says “I saw them pastel it myself.” I point out there is no residual of anything at all … reply was -he says that they strained it . And then asked if I knew what a pastel was. He flat lied. So in closing I ordered the banana 🍌 foster to film and a few snaps for you. I told him thanks and this would help his review. He says “ Just give me two stars” and he added “it’s too bad Google won’t let us review the guest.” I said “well I am paying to be here and you’re getting paid.” 🔑🔑Bottom line when I am the one giving service, I truly give it my best. When I am dining I am equally grateful for good service and will point that out on these reviews. I reward with great tips and always a pleasure to name an outstanding waiter. It’s not always fun working with the public and some times you’re just having a bad day. All understood and my Thanks to the Manager Carlo ! And his comped and Best Ever Carrot 🥕 Cake !!🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅. I said we went to see Dead Pool And it was great !! This waiter had a Jr Type Deadpool mouth that was just not funny and condescending. I was nice to you...
Read moreMade a reservation for 6 of us to go out to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. We got there a few minutes early and they had us wait on the side in the walkway by the bar which was weird and in the way but ok. I was a little disappointed that when making the reservation and even getting there and checking in with the hostess and the waiter, that nobody asked us if we were celebrating anything. It's not a big deal but when I'm spending $450, I would have just liked a little acknowledgment. The restaurant was a lot louder than i expected, I thought it was more quiet fine dining, but that wasn't a big issue. The waiter was average. He came to the table fairly quickly but after that he took forever to come back and take the order and after dropping off the food we didn't get checked back on until we were done. Then it took forever to order our dessert and get the check. The best person working there was the busboy but I didn't get his name. When we sat down they asked us what type of water we wanted but nobody else asked us if we wanted any other drinks. I got the Australian New York wagyu and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned wonderfully. My husband got the filet wagyu and it was way under cooked. It was still good but since nobody came back he just ate half of it. The burgers were overpriced for the quality if them. They were average. The fries were wobbly. The potato puree was delicious though. I didn't care for the macaroni and cheese. The cheese was too sour/bitter for my liking. I didn't care for the Aspen corn either. It was okay but I wish I would have gotten something different. We got the creme brulee which was good and the carrot cake. I like carrot cake but this one wasn't anything great. It was a little dry. Overall, it was just an okay experience. I expected it to be a better experience so maybe that's why I was a little disappointed and it's not like I'm spending pennies there. I probably won't be back anytime soon but if I did, I would just sit at the bar and...
