It’s nestled in a busy plaza by the gym (conveniently, we went here after a workout).
The doors and windows are dark so my friend questioned if it was even open. I opened the door for him, and voila! He loved the atmosphere.
The right wall is a beautiful illustration of a full moon. Comfy seating and cute lighting fixtures were above us. We approach the register and the desserts displayed on the left were pieces of art.
We ordered and sat down, and waited. For quite a while.
It probably took 25 mins for my salmon poke tacos to come out, and 20 mins for my friend’s pastry a la mode. But man it’s worth the wait! They were all SO GOOD.
The salmon poke tacos: the “tortilla” is actually CHEESE. Wow. I LOVE CHEESE. Generous salmon portion with mayo dressing underneath and micro greens on top. Beautiful and delicious. The flavors exploded in my mouth.
I don’t know the name of the pastry a la mode but wow it was sweet and hit the spot. Super flaky which added texture when eaten with the ice cream. Great presentation as well.
The Luna Bun is a taro cream-filled dim sum-looking dessert with a little gold foil on top. So cute. Mostly soft textures, like mousse.
They also have specialty coffees, teas served in gorgeous teapots, and boba/milk tea.
This is my second time at this joint and I will definitely come back to try other things...
Read moreLa Luna Tea & Dessert Bar is one of my all time favorite cafes off the strip. It has two locations and specializes in Asian drinks and desserts sourced from mainland China.
While I usually find myself seeking out coffee shops, I also find it hard to pass up on Asian desserts.
When I got there, I asked for some of their recommendations and ended up ordering their Salmon Poke Taco, Sweet Bath Time, Rose Mousse, and an Iced Latte.
The Sweet Bath Time is a dessert molded to look like a slice of cheese. You can think of it as an Asian styled “cheese” cake (which is slightly sweet and salty) with a cheese mousse, blueberry filling and white chocolate exterior. The dessert is quite sweet so it would be good to balance it out with something less sweet.
The Rose Mousse is more balanced with just a hint of rose and lychee filling.
The Salmon Poke Taco is pretty decent with its crispy outer shell. It is definitely more of a fusion dish and serves as a nice quick bite. It allows you to sample one of their dishes without fully committing and having a sit down meal.
I would highly recommend checking out La Luna Tea & Dessert Bar if you are in Las Vegas and looking for local spots outside...
Read moreIf you haven’t tried La Luna, you are missing out. I’ve lived in the area for almost three years now and I’ve only discovered them in the last few mo the, but I’ve already stopped by several times. The boba menu is absolutely amazing, with choices all over the place. Also? This is one of those places where you get amazing, fresh boba no matter when you show up. The desserts are mind-blowing, and I have actually assigned the homework of going to this restaurant as a way of practicing self-care to several of the overstressed parents who I work with. I wish I could choose a specific dessert to spotlight, but there has not been a single one that has not led to me closing my eyes and just closing everything else out so I can focus on the amazing flavors bursting on my tongue. I’m always sure to try a new macaron flavor every single time that I’m there, because they have a rainbow of choices available. They have a full tea service as well, and I have quite the list of people who I plan on treating them to this as an intimate and personal birthday...
