Several years ago, while visiting Madrid, Spain, we discovered the Chocolatería San Ginés, founded in 1894 and instantly fell in love. In Madrid, this café is known for its cream dark chocolate and delectable churros. Well today, we learned that we did not need to travel all the way to Spain to enjoy such a gastronomic delight and we found it at Olé Churros in Henderson. This delightful shop, tucked away inside the Beltway Plaza Shopping Mall at the intersection of South Eastern Avenue and East Serene Avenue, is a chocoholic gold mine. From the very first bite, our taste buds were transported back to Madrid and trust us, you will not be able to resist the charm of these golden, sugary wonders. You will be hooked at the monument you step inside with the aroma of freshly fried dough and cinnamon. According to Theo, who is the other secret or hidden gem to this shop, most everything there is imported from Spain, including the real showstopper, the chocolate dipping sauce. Theo told us how they use only the highest-quality ingredients and family traditional Spanish recipes to make the churros, which are made on-site after you order. What does that mean? Plan your visit because it will take a few extra minutes to fill your order so if you are in a rush, we would advise ordering online. There is plenty of free parking in the area, so that should not be a problem. Finally, and we mean this sincerely, what we found to be the most important aspect of this shop was the phenomenal service provided by one of the most charming, friendly and polite young man one could ever hope for and that was Theo. To the owners, this individual is one of the main reasons in our opinion this place is so successful, what a gem – thank you Theo. We should note, the only drawback to this shop is the lack of a dining area and charging an additional credit card fee. They do have a few stools along a window counter, but they are mainly used by customers waiting for their orders. Finally, most people do not carry a lot if any cash nowadays, and having your customers pay the credit card fee is not something we like and tends to make us shy away from such locations,...

Who can say no to the phrase " Let's Go Get Churros "? I know I surely won't. Churros, for me, are one of those happy memory moments. There are so many flashbacks in each bite. In my world, sometimes food is much more than an indulgence. It is a moment to have a great memory amidst the past trauma.
Upon entering, there was a small line, but I was acknowledged, which was very nice. I scanned the menu and saw that combo and knew it was a must.
So, of course opted for that combo with the standard dipping sauces. I got to watch the Churros being made, such was awesome in itself. It puts things in a perspective when you get to see the dough being rolled out, then fried up to that wonderful goodness.
Interior is very quaint. There are a couple of seat up counters by the windows. It def won't accommodate a large party. Now, if you are like me, you got your box, went to the car, and devoured as much as you could before you started to judge yourself. Lol
Would recommend- pricing is typical especially with the new inflation part of life. Now I will say comparing pictures of dipping Sauce to mine, I do wish it was same for same. But other than that, the Bavarian Cream is why I'm already plotting my next adventure back. The customer service was friendly.
Location is Eastern/ Serene - ample parking. However, it does get...
Read moreI had ordered twice through DoorDash. The first day, I ordered an extra side of dulce sauce with the 6 piece expecting chocolate as well, since that is in the menu description. I was able to get a refund through DoorDash for a sauce. The next day, I ordered 12 piece as the DoorDash menu describes it to come with three sauces: chocolate, dulce, and strawberry. This time when my order came, I had no sauce since I did not order any extras. When I called the store, I spoke with the girl on the phone, but with no viable solution, she suggested I leave my phone number so she can have her manager call me back. Now it has been over a week and I still have not received a phone call.
I am disappointed because the churros itself were so chewy and delicious. The second day I was not able to enjoy them because I ordered them solely To try out the sauces I Missed out on previously.
Update: I replied by email (I was busy so it took me a few weeks) but got no reply. I then called the number provided by the response and left a message and still no response. I am now very disappointed. How can you ask to get a call or an email and NOT RESPOND!?!? I really wanted to support a local business but the lack or customer service and follow through makes me not want to recommend this place to...
