Since last year, the quality of the food has risen exponentially.
One of the very small number of Chinese food places in the valley that is consistently very, very good. This is not a chain, but a family owned place with just the one location. Over the past few months I've had:
Orange chicken: really great with the right amount of 'orangeness'. I once had them add mushrooms to it, and the flavor profile was off the chain.
Chow Mein: delicious, nice chew, never too soft or too oily.
Chicken Teriyaki Skewers: SO good! If you're keto or diabetic, this will become your staple. You can make it a whole meal, and it's at an appetizer price!
Tom Yum Seafood Soup (as it comes, or without tomatoes and extra spicy). They may put drugs in it to make me crave it so often. Great for low carbers.
Kung Pow Chicken: great balance of chicken, veggies and spicy peppers!
Tomato Beef with white rice: straight up delicious comfort food. Feeling down? Order the tomato beef.
White Rice: standard white rice, no deficiencies, other than after a day or two in the fridge it can get dry. Nuke it with water or sauce, and then it's fine.
Egg Rolls: I'm not an egg roll guy, but they always throw some in for free with my order. Better than any local egg roll I've tried, I don't even need that red dipping sauce.
Crab Rangoon: (the little crispy shell with the cream cheese thingy inside) If I don't get these when I get food here, one of my kids gets irate.
I've always gotten stellar service, and not just because of the egg roll hookup.
Be prepared for a small dining area. Four booths that seat four, and four tables that seat two. Five or six of us came on Christmas Day, and they made it work. It's become a tradition, sort of like in that movie 'A Christmas Story'.
I can understand the young lady behind the counter, even though she speaks very fast with a thick accent. It's cool. While waiting for my order, I stopped watching a show on my phone just to listen to her respond to phone orders. I don't know why, but it was way more entertaining than what I was watching, LOL!
Their one bathroom is... a bathroom. I've seen much worse and much better...but I'm not really a bathroom snob.
Overall, Lucky China has an authentic feel, smell and taste to it. If I could change anything, I would change their forks. I don't mind that they are plastic but the tines are super bendy. Okay to eat with, not great to dish the food onto plates.
Don't be surprised if you see their kids helping by clearing tables or sweeping. Like I said, it's family owned and they take pride in their food.
Check it out, I really think you...

I read some good reviews on this place, and was completely surprised by the disappointment that was Little Dumpling. I almost feel like it is their employees leaving the reviews, because I can't imagine anyone actually liking this restaurant in terms of service, pricing, or food quality. My friend and I called in a delivery order. The woman on the phone seemed nice as she took our order. We ordered teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, and chow mein. This seemed like a fairly simple order, but I was surprised when I was told that it would be $35. She then explained that they don't have sides, and that everything is ordered individually. After pondering it for a second, we decided to go ahead and get it. I like extra sauce with my food, so I told her about three or four times that I wanted extra sides Sriracha sauce. She seemed to understand me, and was told that it would only take thirty minutes. It did take thirty minutes, and that is the only positive aspect of this experience. We opened our boxes to find an order or Teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, chow mein, egg rolls, and TWO boxes of white rice. There was no extra teriyaki sauce, and absolutely no Sriracha. I was frustrated, so I called Little Dumpling immediately. I told the woman that she should have told me about the included sides of rice, that way I wouldn't get charged for extra. I also explained that we were not given napkins, silverware, or the extra sauce like requested. I requested for the delivery guy to come back with my requests. As he was on his way, I finally got to try the food. The teriyaki chicken does not even remotely resemble the taste of teriyaki. I'm not sure what kind of sauce they use, but it was dreadful. Almost no flavor at all. The orange chicken did have the classic orange chicken taste, but it was dry and, once again, had almost no flavor. When he returned with the sauce and utensils, I was surprised to find that I got one pack of sriracha to go with the detestable over-priced meal. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with...
Read moreI've been living in Henderson for about five years now, and I've tried my fair share of Chinese restaurants in the area. Being quite particular about the taste and style of Chinese food, I tend to judge pretty harshly—especially since places like Panda Express leave a lot to be desired. But Lucky China? This place blew me away!
We ordered a variety of dishes: I went for the General Chicken, my wife chose the Lemon Chicken with fried rice, and my kids opted for the Orange Chicken with fried rice. Let me tell you, this is hands down the best Chinese food I've had since moving here.
The General Chicken was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of sweet and spicy, the Lemon Chicken had a fresh citrus flavor that wasn't overpowering, and the fried rice was cooked to perfection. The Orange Chicken, which my kids devoured, had that perfect mix of tangy and sweet that keeps you coming back for more.
If you're in Henderson and craving authentic, delicious Chinese food, Lucky China should be at the top of your list. This place is a hidden gem that absolutely nails the flavors and quality I’ve been...
