Rain on Horizon — Restaurant in Henderson

Maybe a top 10 meal I’ve ever had in my life.

They recently opened and they’re a real gem. Great place for a nice dinner/date night. Check them out, you will not be disappointed.

Staff were friendly and service was quick.

The food: We got the Foie Gras and Beef Tartare to start and had the Beef Wellington and Ribeye Nightmare for our entrees.

Everything was excellent. The beef tartare was very good (the bread with it was a highlight)

The Foie Gras was incredible. The blueberry balsamic demi-glace really enhanced the flavor of the Foie Gras. I would go back just for this.

The Beef Wellington was done perfectly. It’s my new favorite in town (much prefer this to Hell’s Kitchen)

The Ribeye Nightmare is topped with green chilis and cheese. All of the flavors worked really well together with just the right amount of spice. Really unique dish.

The drinks were excellent also and we finished the meal with the Carrot Cake which was delightful.

If you’re looking for a spot that’s almost romantic (like “candlelight with soothing blue surroundings”), and perfect for eating way too much while pretending to have deep conversations with friends—Rain is the place! The menu is gourmet but not snooty, with everything from fancy-pants Beef Wellington to burgers that will make you forget about your diet. They’ve got chicken and seafood pastas that don’t taste like the usual “ehhh, it’s fine” restaurant versions—they’re actually good! Our waitress was friendly, polite, and had such a sweet personality that I briefly considered adopting her. The vibe is relaxed, no one rushes you, and you actually get to enjoy your food. We live walking distance so went to Happy Hour to "test drive" it. We are so happy we did! Had $8 food (Mussels in Green chili sauce w/ frites, Grilled chicken lettuce wraps and Chili con queso...pro-tip...dip the frites in the queso...fabulous!) We had Oh Nana, Rainwater and She's My Girlfriend cocktails...all great. The attention to service (bartender Tad) and to the food quality and presentation made us eager to come back for dinner soon or Sunday Brunch!
