UPDATE: 01/09/25: We needed to update this review after our last visit to this store. Today, we spent over $50.00 on lunch, a couple of pastries and two loaves of bread. The lunch was okay except for the chicken soup. How is it possible to destroy the soup because the chicken is so over cooked. So, if you want good chicken soup at a get price, we recommend the Vons store on Windmill and Pecos, the chicken soup is the best and the chicken is so tender. Also, the pastries were terrible, stale, dry and lacking in taste. As for the bread, the staff member who cut them for us destroyed at least a quarter of each loaf of bread and stuffed them into a bag. Unfortunately for us, we did not discover this mess until we arrived home since she had bought us the breads and pastries in a large brown paper bag and did not bother to check them before leaving, which is on us. Bottomline, we will not be coming back to this store for a very long time if ever. Panera use to be so good but it seems the quality and service has fallen dramatically over the past year or so.
Standard Panera Bread store but they do need to be more aware of their customers. Today, had a line of customers waiting and only one employee taking orders. Moments earlier what appeared to be a supervisor came over a took one order then walked away. They do have the order machines at the location, but I am one of those people who liked to have a real person take my order. The food was very good and had no complaints but the prices for eating there have really increased. On top of that, you now get a pager and when your food is ready, you must go get it yourself. No big deal, but when you place your order there is what has become standard at these places - electronic payment machines. And what is the first thing you see, the "the tip" suggestions - really. I must go to the counter/machine and order my food, given a pager and when it goes off, I must get my food and at the end empty my tray and they want a 20 25% tip - sorry, no. Will I go there again, of course, I like their food and pastries but there is room for...
Read moreEverything was great. The only complaint I have is the young lady that took our order, even though she was patient with me, she appeared to not want to be there. When I realized I ordered the wrong salad, I spoke with the young man and explained to him, he helped me figure it out, he offered to remake it and when he brought me it, I felt like I was getting the feast of my life. However, when we were getting ready to leave, my legs decided to give out on me and I fell backwards landed on my back. My head bounced off the ground and landed back on the ground. My right elbow is swollen and very bruised. When I fell, the store manager, the young man, my company that was with me, they all came to my aid. I was embarrassed, I was crying and I was scared. The store manager, Casey, he kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. The only thing that I wish for again right now is to be able to eat the salad. I couldn't eat it before we left because I had been craving it for so long, various things kept me from getting it, but I was just so happy that I was going to savor the salad and eat it when I got home. I had just been approved to move into the new apartment that day and I was celebrating. I spent $75 there that day and I couldn't even enjoy the salad. Because we had moved into the new place, we had no silverware and because of the commotion from the fall my company forgot to pack me a fork and knife. So I was unable to eat my salad before it went bad, causing me to lose my money on something I was wanting to eat that night but couldn't for the reason above. This happened on Friday November 4th, 2022...
Read moreI have been to Panera many times over the years. The atmosphere at this one is chaotic, unfriendly, and not warm & inviting. I visited the one in Avon, Ohio and felt so much better & inviting there. It had fresh bagels, a refrigerator section with drinks, snacks, plenty of employees to help you, a condiment bar for coffee & meals, etc., the tables were situated in a way that made it more inviting. But, this place was chaotic with a self order section that had no buzzers at the stations, and the menu was not user friendly as it was hard to locate a sandwich I was looking for. There was a lack of employees & the bakery section was lacking & had only a couple items available & no one there to help you at times. I waited so long for my order, that I had to sit down & read emails to pass the time. The employees preparing meals seemed very stressed & not friendly. Panera owner, get your place together. If you need to come in & help, then I suggest you take the time & effort to improve this place. The food was okay, but too much bread disguising the lack of meat inside. The sandwiches had a good taste and I would love to try other things, but this visit was a bummer. And while I was waiting, a dad & his son walked in & they were sick & coughing the entire visit. I put my mask on but the place is so small he sat a row behind all of us waiting for our pickup order. Maybe place a wall with plexiglass to block them from coughing on us as we wait for our order. The chips that come with the sandwich are horrible, hard, and greasy. Offer something...
