Being a new place with decent reviews, we made a reservation for 7pm on Friday night. There was no need to as it was us and 3 other tables. Walking in the space was done nicely. The hostes walked us to our table, passing the exhibition kitchen. The "chef" leaned over the bar and neglected to acknowledge us as he looked up when we passed. It's not a major deal, but he only had 12 diners. You would think he should want to make them all feel welcome. He and who could have been the manager sat with a table the entire time we dined. Passing other tables the few times they got up, not one time acknowledging them. Our waiter could use a trim and clean up his facial hair. His faded denim pants, dirty black tennis shoes, and earthy jewelry weren't a good fit. The pricing and pretentious presentation dictate a better outfit to be serving what is touted to be high-end dining. The house music was some repetitive techno type music. When the live entertainment started, it reminded me of "Mia" on Two and a Half Men. (You tube Mia sings in the studio). One of my sides was missed when the order was placed. I'm not sure why, but with only two plates on the table and a few tables to serve, how? When reminded, the server rushed to input it. He appeared to write it down! My steak was decent, and the pasta sauce on the Chicken Parm was terrible. It was tart and tangy, kind of like when it was turning. The check came in a folder that had already lived its life expectancy. The hair was (near the pen cap in the picture) was pretty repulsive. We will not return or...
Read moreRosa Ristorante is a relatively new restaurant located off St Rose Parkway. Unfortunately, unless you know where it is you might miss it amongst the regular office buildings. It turns out to be a nice gem where Chef and owner Rob Moore prepares enticing and creative dishes. We started with his Crispy Calamari appetizer served with a nicely spiced marinara sauce. We chose the Cantina Andriano, Pinot Grigio wine for the meal- a very nice dry white with a slightly tart lingering taste. For entrées we chose the Fettucini Fruitti Di Mare which included lobster, shrimp, clams and calamari. The fettucini was perfect and bathed in a well-balanced saffron cream sauce. The seafood was cooked to perfection and all enhanced by the saffron sauce except for the lobster which I felt was slightly overpowered by the saffron. Our second entrée was Korabuta Pork Chop grilled brilliantly and served with an amazing mushroom and pearl Barley risotto along with two small cups of sage and kale ragu. The chop was delicious and tender, but because it was a nice thickness, should have been provided a steak knife to cut it. For desert we chose the Butterscotch Budino enhanced with chocolate and crunchy bits with caramel sauce and whipped cream. Delightful! Service was attentive and spot on. The ambience is nice (though the large screen TVs detract from the dinning room) with a beautifully painted full wall mural of roses. There was also live entertainment provided by a very talented soloist with a...
