From the moment we stepped into Taj Palace Restaurant, we knew we were in for something special. The warm aroma of spices, the inviting atmosphere, and the beautiful décor instantly set the tone for what would become one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. But what truly elevated our evening from “wonderful” to “absolutely extraordinary” was the incredible service we received from our server, Amit.
From the very first interaction, Amit greeted us with a genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. His professionalism was matched by his warmth, and it was clear that he not only took pride in his work but genuinely cared about making our evening perfect. He guided us through the menu with such detail and enthusiasm, explaining each dish, offering thoughtful recommendations, and even sharing a bit about the traditions and ingredients behind them. His knowledge of the cuisine and his passion for great service shone through in every interaction.
One of the things that stood out the most was how attentive Amit was without ever being intrusive. He seemed to have a sixth sense for knowing exactly when to check in, refill a drink, or clear a plate, all while giving us space to enjoy our conversation. It was as though he anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. That kind of attention to detail is rare, and it made us feel truly cared for.
When our food arrived, it was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was vibrant, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The chicken tikka masala was rich and perfectly balanced, the naan was warm and pillowy with just the right amount of char, and the lamb rogan josh was tender and deeply spiced. The presentation was beautiful, and it was clear the kitchen took pride in every plate they sent out. Amit made sure everything was exactly as we liked it and encouraged us to savor the flavors slowly.
Another highlight was how Amit tailored the experience for each of us. He took note of our spice preferences and dietary needs, ensuring everyone at the table had a dish they loved. He also went above and beyond to make sure the pacing of the meal matched our mood — never rushing us, but also never letting us wait too long between courses. His ability to read the table and adapt was truly impressive.
By the time dessert arrived — a heavenly mango kulfi and a perfectly sweet gulab jamun — we were already talking about when we could come back. Amit’s hospitality made the meal feel less like a restaurant visit and more like being welcomed into someone’s home.
In a world where great service can sometimes feel like a lost art, Amit is a shining example of how it’s done right. Taj Palace is lucky to have him, and we feel lucky to have experienced his incredible service. This was more than just dinner — it was an experience we’ll remember for...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at Taj Palace Indian cuisine
I recently visited Taj Palace Indian Cuisine, an Indian restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Here's a breakdown of my disappointing visit:
Unpleasant Service: The service at Taj Palace Indian Cuisine was far from satisfactory. Our server was not only unhelpful but also arrogant in his demeanor. When we inquired about sharing a soup, the response was dismissive and delivered in a condescending tone. Additionally, our request for a vegan biryani without paneer, an option clearly mentioned on the menu, was met with confusion, highlighting a lack of understanding of the available choices.
Incoherent Menu Descriptions: We ordered a vegetarian platter, expecting a variety of items. However, what arrived was far from what one would typically consider a platter. It included 2 samosas, 2 kachoris, and 4 manchurian balls. The term "platter" was misleading and did not accurately reflect the dish's contents.
Subpar Culinary Experience: The food quality at Taj Palace Indian Cuisine was a major letdown. The gajar halwa was insipid, resembling a paste with added color and sugar. The mango custard, while slightly better, seemed over processed and had an excessive amount of dalda. Both dishes lacked the authentic flavors one would expect from an Indian restaurant.
Communication Issues: When asked about spice levels, the server insisted on a scale of 10, despite my preference being 4 out of 5. This miscommunication was not only confusing but also delivered in a disrespectful tone. Furthermore, when the curry lacked salt and spice, we were told to adjust it ourselves, which seemed like an inadequate solution. The server justified this by saying, "Each customer will have different salt and spice levels, so we do not add it, and you can add it as needed." This statement raised questions about the purpose of inquiring about spice preferences if the kitchen wasn't willing to accommodate them.
Overall Experience: In conclusion, my visit to Taj Palace Indian Cuisine was disappointing on multiple fronts. From the lackluster service to the subpar food quality, it felt like a regrettable choice. I would caution others against visiting this establishment unless they are willing to endure ill-treatment along with a less-than-satisfactory dining experience.
I sincerely hope Taj Palace Indian Cuisine takes constructive feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a better dining experience for...
Read moreFirst of all, I hardly ever write a review. I have been going to this establishment for like 10 years. Always had a good experience and the food is always very good. My husband and I decided to go to the buffet yesterday. We got our food and sat down to eat. I filled half of my plate, since that is all I can eat. I started eating and after 6 bites, I ran outside and vomited. It was NOT the food, it was me. I have issues sometimes with my food. I was afraid to continue eating at this time. However, I didn't want to pay $20 something dollars for 6 bites. I know you are not supposed to take a "doggie bag" from a buffet, but I felt that the circumstances in this case warranted it. I asked one of the waiters who was the Manager. He said he was. I told him what happened and that this was my first and only plate of food and could I get a box. He told me absolutely not. It is against the rules. I sat there stunned. I get it if I had eaten 5 heaping plates full and wanted to take the 6th heaping plate full home. But, this was not the case. He would not budge no matter what I said. I was so upset. I contemplated never going there ever again. By chance, I asked another waiter who the manager was and he said he was. Apparently, every one that works there are managers. Anyway, I started to tell him my story and he cut me off to tell me he would gladly get me a box and a bag for me to take it home for later. He even offered to make me more bread. I don't eat bread, my husband did. Just like that came my box and bag. When it was time to pay, the mean and rude waiter brought over the check. I know he saw the box and bag, but he didn't say a word. I gave him my credit card. He then came back with his tablet and showed me the screen where I could pick how much tip to give. I wanted to give zero, but then I didn't want to screw the nice waiter so I gave 15% for a buffet. The nice waiter/manager was named Roninl and the mean waiter/manager is Mr. V. Gaddam. When I go there again, If Mr. Gaddam even comes near me I plan on telling him to get away from me. BTW, I had my "doggie...
