Alykat Deli Subs and Sandwiches — Restaurant in Hendersonville

This is usually a great place to enjoy lunch. I went with my wife to eat some soup. They did not have Chicken Gumbo, so I ordered a large Chicken Noodle Soup with my wife getting a small Chicken Noodle Soup and a half Reuben. The server came back and said there was only enough Soup for a small, so I said I would take Chicken with Wild Rice. Then the server came back and said they did have enough for a large. With the limited soups, I said Cream of Potato. It was 12:15 pm and they opened at 11 am. Was there a Soup rush? About 15 minutes later, I heard a gentleman order a small Chicken Noodle. It must have been a miracle, they had Soup for him. Please someone, explain this to me. I managed to eat about 1/3 of the bowl. The Soup had the the consistency of silly buddy. I left very disappointed and it may be awhile...

Me and my girlfriend has been wanting to come here for some time but our schedules didn't allow us to because they're normally closed But on this particular day we had an opportunity to come here Let me just say I'm glad we were able to come here. Place only takes cash, Good news is they have an ATM on site. The place has real old school vibes as soon as I was walking up to the door the smell was reminding me of like my granddad's house it just has this old smell to it, I loved it. The people were nice and friendly. Now to the food I got the turkey sub and a brownie and my gf got the chicken Philly. I really want to love this place, but I don't. I've eaten here 5 times. I like a good deli and wish this place was it, but it isn't. Highly processed and salty meats. Overpriced for what you get. If a Jason's Deli, Jimmy John's, Which Wich or other deli opened nearby this place would fold. It's been here quite a while and is popular with "regulars" and seniors. There is a 4% upcharge to use a credit card. Napkins are just a roll of paper towels on the table. Twice I've wanted a pastrami sandwich but they were out. What? A deli out of pastrami??? Menu says there is a salad bar - there isn't. Men's restroom.... I was going to only give 3 stars, but I want to support this...
