Can't really speak much for the store except the rude employee and the slightly bizarre owner (who I did not have direct contact with but refused to talk to me over the phone). Vendor purchased a table from my on FB marketplace and asked if I would deliver 2 hrs round trip (100 miles) for $40. Anyone knows that is ridiculous and does not even cover gas and wear and tear on car let alone time and energy. I suggested she use the app Roadie to get it delivered but she didn't want to because she said it was too expensive. I reluctantly agreed to deliver it for $40. When I arrived at the store I offered to help set it up and move it to the place where she wanted it (she was reselling the table for triple the price she purchased for) then she said okay okay go outside and wait for me. When I went outside for her to venmo me she says okay whats the price we agreed on? I replied "339 (299 + 40 delivery "fee" ) she says "I'm going to pay you $330" I said no we agreed on $339 and its totally inappropriate to try to change the price after I've driven an hour to get to you. She then continues "well I'm going to pay you $330" so I say fine then I'm going to take the table back. I'm not going to argue with you." so I proceed to try to get my table back but the staff of the store are getting ready to leave. I explain to the staff member that the vendor doesnt want to pay me the price we agreed on and im not going to argue with her so I'm going to take the table back. The staff member says "no you're not." and closes the door. She knew full well that it would only take 3 mins to get the table out of the store. She claims she MUST leave that very second. So I call the police. By this time the vendor is offering to pay the $339 price we agreed on but I've had it with her. The staff member then calls the owner and I couldn't hear what they were saying but when I asked to speak to the owner the owner refused to talk with me. Finally after going back and forth and with the police on their way, the owner tells the staff to let me get my table. The staff member says I can get the table and I tell her I've refunded the vendor the money she's venmo-ed me. The staff tells the vendor "Make sure he's actually refunded you!" and the staff member's sister who is visiting her says "Just decline the refund so you can keep the table". They are disgusting and so dishonest. To the staff member who questioned my honesty and integrity in refunding the monies: Perhaps you should question your vendors and sister who wanted to lie and defraud me out of money. I was honest with this transaction through and through. There are other reviews on here of customers complaining about dishonesty and lack of transparency with vendors and the staff and I can wholeheartedly agree from first hand experience that the staff and vendors of this store have a very distant relationship with honesty and integrity. The owner seems quite strange as well. I would highly suggest to avoid this place- from the cursory glance I had around the store the inventory and items for sale are pretty lackluster and most of the things you can probably get off of FB marketplace or Restore for a lot less (Clearly that is where they are sourcing their stuff anyway). Hopefully you can avoid a headache dealing with these people by learning from my mistake. Will be leaving reviews on all available platforms to warn as many...
Read moreHad a very strange first introduction to this store. ( Keep in mind, they sell upholstered furniture and pillows just to mention a few items.) One of the first things to greet me is a hairy cat up on the counter and dogs barking and not a friendly bark. Felt like I snuck into someone's private house rather than a welcomed customer into a retail store. Some human voice greeted us amidst this but no visual immediately detected. I think I said hello back "to wherever you are." Someone eventually called off the dogs and quieted them. We walked the entire store wondering what other surprises awaited us. We were looking for counter height stools and they had a few but not what we were looking for. As we exited, one dog was standing on a sofa as if he was guarding it. I won't be back. I prefer to buy furniture without dog and cat hair on them. Also are the owners aware of pet allergies? Bizarre...
Read moreNot yet he money but the dishonesty. I am a local resident and have done considerable business at the Marketplace, as a consigner and a customer. My experience yesterday left me with a feeling of dishonesty on the part of the owner (short blunt cut hair). She verbally agreed to sell me two items at 15% off for a total of $71. When I checked out, she charged me $80 plus tax. When I questioned the amount, she stated that she meant she was only discounting 1 item for a total of $80 for both. She denied mentioning the $71 amount and stated she only meant 15% off ONE item. She said it was a "misunderstanding" on my part. In the end it's NOT the $$ but the fact that she took advantage of me, perhaps thinking I was a tourist who might not be back. We, I won't do business with a dishonest business owner...no more Marketplace for me or my friends or my visitors...
