Staying at a hotel nearby and drove past, saw the mariscos on the sign and knew we had to go.
I got the shrimp Diablo - best version of this dish I've had. The Pico de gallo with fruit that comes with it was so good and and completely novel to me. Gf got the fruit ceviche w/ fish and shrimp, and it was amazing!
Place was everything we were hoping for and more. The taqueria menu in the back looks great if you aren't a seafood person, but we are and can't get that far bc there are so many amazing seafood options.
The seafood was of very high quality. I saw some negative reviews about price s and them being a seafood restaurant, instead of a regular tex Mex place - if youre expecting discount seafood and hamburger tacos, this is not the place for you, try red lobster and taco bell. You get what you pay for, which is excellent and authentic Mexican food of the highest quality.
Also they have a full bar that looks nice but we came for a late lunch and did not drink alcohol.
Seriously, this place is a gem. I travel for work frequently and have to eat out regularly, I wish my hometown had anything even close to this.
We didn't think to take any pictures bc we weren't planning on leaving a review but by the end of the meal I felt like I had to bc it...

In lieu of chips and salsa, they offer some sort of a shredded crab tostada. To quote our server, they do not have chips and salsa. A little weird for a Mexican restaurant, but okay.
My fiancée ordered the usual, arroz con pollo, and I ordered what I like for gauging the flavor and authenticity I’m looking for in Mexican food — carne asada tacos, plain and simple.
Her ACP came with a little American flag in middle. Kinda cute, kinda on the nose, but a nice presentation overall. My tacos were a bit dry, but they were okay. I wouldn’t rush back here, though.
I think I mistook this place for the one next door inside the Best Western. Mariscos El Paso seems to cater more to Mexican-style seafood — which again is an odd take for me, but may be interesting to others.
p.s. the music was some really loud marimba-surf over the PA, not for me personally but maybe turn it down a little so patrons...

First thing that was given to us was a large round fried tortilla with a salsa on top. It was not spicy, and it was just enough to whet our appetites. Delicious! The menu was huge, and it was difficult to decide on just one thing. Due to a dental procedure, I had to find something soft. The cheese quesadilla fit the bill and it was perfect. The included salad was different and amazing: cucumber, tomato, dried banana slice, apple slices, and lettuce with Caesar dressing. Husband raved about his cheese grilled burrito with chicken, rice, and the same salad.
If you are in the area, and you like Mexican food, this is the place for you. We will make it a stop anytime we are in the area so we can try more of...
