If you truly appreciate good coffee (and decent food and pastries) this is not the place for you. As another reviewer stated, this is another sub par coffee shop, trying, with pictures on the walls, coffee makers on display, and the clean decor, to appear as a niche coffee shop with truly good coffee. Not the case unfortunately.
I was truly excited to read that an independent coffee shop had opened in Herndon, so my husband and I decided to try it. Upon entering, in spite of it being new and clean, the atmosphere is very cold and the smell was not definitely not pleasant. Let's start with coffee: they pride themselves in serving "premium organic coffee", but then will not provide a pitcher of "real" half and half - or any other "fresh" options, all they have on the counter are little packets of Coffee Mate". This was already a bad sign.
I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on bagel, and was informed I'd have to pay extra for the bagel... ok. I asked if the food was freshly made and told "yes" but when I ordered a breakfast burrito and asked for very little bacon in it, the lady at the counter said it was impossible, because the burritos are pre-made... but with quality ingredients. I also ordered a cheese danish.
Waited 10 minutes for 2 cups of drip coffee, which was truly only average. Another 15 minutes to get the food, even though there were only 3 other people in the shop, and they were seated and served.
The bagel sandwich was burned, super greasy inside and after one bite, my husband threw it out. When I opened the burrito that had been warmed in a microwave, it was not only soggy, but the eggs inside (mixed with some kind of sausage even though I had asked for bacon) were grayish and totally unappetizing - I did not even taste it and threw it out. The cheese danish was hard and the filling tasted acid, definitely not fresh. A total waste of money, not to mention that this food could make someone ill.
We would never come back here and will continue to drive to Chantilly or Vienna, where at least there are a few good...
Read moreWe were excited to have breakfast and coffee at this coffee shop, but our overall experience was disappointing. The coffee was great, a highlight among the items we tried. However, their signature Old Town Sandwich did not have tomato, as they had run out, and the sandwich was mediocre. The avocado toast was also unremarkable, and while the blueberry scone was decent, the strawberry cream cheese Danish left much to be desired.
This coffee shop has great potential; however, it was not tidy or clean during our visit. The entrance door had numerous fingerprints, and the interior could use some cleaning. To make the space more inviting, the high ceiling could be enhanced with hanging plants, and potted plants could be placed inside the premises to add some greenery.
Additionally, the “luxury” Dubai chocolate was far from luxurious. We ordered the pistachio Dubai chocolate, which was small, poorly made, and didn’t contain any pistachios. The $9.50 price felt like a complete rip-off.
Ultimately, we will not return to this coffee shop and do not...
Read moreI'm really not sure why anyone would give this any less than 5 stars. I wish I could give it more! I am visiting from New Jersey for a ballet intensive that my daughter is attending, and I happened upon this little coffee shop, attached to an ice cream parlor. I thought for sure I'd get ice cream at some point, but I haven't yet. I HAVE been to this coffee shop every day since I found it, though! I have tried almost every flavor on the menu, and the one I think I loved the most was Honey lavender oat milk latte. I was a bit afraid at first, but it did not taste like a bath or too floral. Just a nice refreshing coffee!
The employees are so friendly, the atmosphere is conducive to work, but also to socializing, since there is a giant table in the middle, bar stools on the sides or couch type chairs in the front. I honestly am usually a whatever type coffee gal, or a chain coffee is fine person, but this place is somewhere I'd come every day if I lived here. I'm so sad I can't take this experience...
