La Fountain Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Herriman

I love the Riverton location and was very excited to have this Herriman location closer to my house. I tried them 1st as take out. The food wasn’t the best but they were busy so I thought I would give them another chance and dine in. we got there at 5:00 for dinner and 5 employees were sitting in front having their dinner which was fine. We got seated. The atmosphere and decor seemed nice. We were the only people seated to eat. I opened my menu and it had food and wet salsa inside the middle of the menu when I opened it. So I looked at my husband’s menu . When a girl showed up to our table to bring chips and salad I tried to hand the girl my menu and told her it was dirty that she might want clean it before giving it to someone else. She just laughed and smiled and walked away. I realized she didn’t understand what I was saying. My husband and 1 other in our group ordered carne asada burritos and their meat was cold everything side of the burrito was cold. Which was odd that things were cold when they weren’t busy. We were the only customers seated and the service was very slow. So I would expect things to be hot. There was 5 on our group. We eat at the Riverton location often to know. The salsa was runnier at this herriman location. At this herriman location , the meat and chicken was seasoned and cooked differently. Everything is just a little different. We have been regulars at La Fountain for over 10 years. This last experience, the Herriman La Fountain will be the reason we never go here again. I have routinely gotten my same three enchilada combo every time 1 steak and 2 shredded beef with red sauce. The waiter seemed a little bit confused and asked if I wanted red chili sauce to which I said yes, the red sauce. They prepared some sort of Colorado edition of this sauce and it had random chunks of insanely salty dried out meat that ruined my meal. My wife got the chili Verde special and inside her burrito was nothing but beans and hers was also insanely salty. The waiter did offered to remake our food, but we said no, as we didn’t want to inconvenience them for the mistakes and we were pretty salted out at this point. We tried to use a coupon for five dollars off that we have routinely been able to use it at the other locations and to my surprise, they said they won’t accept it. Later this evening, we each have had to drink close to a half gallon of water to compensate for the amount of salt that was put in our meals. I hate to say this, as I would love to give flowers to any Herriman business I can, but you’re going to be better served to go elsewhere. I love the La Fountain in Riverton, and was excited there was another nearby in Herriman. However, we won't be coming back to this location anytime soon. Super disappointed.

Quick rundown, food is not as good as other locations, pricing is a little more expensive, the ground beef was greasy, flavors were bland, they don't have spicy salsa, chips were oily, and the service was poor. Our server brought our meals out and apologized that there was an issue in the kitchen and they had made us the wrong meals. That normally would be a little inconvenient, but in this scenario they tried to get us to take the meals they messed up on. This wasn't a little mistake like shredded beef burritos instead of ground beef, they had made completely wrong menu items! We asked them to remake our original meals (took a few tries to get them to understand this), and once we got our check they charged us for the wrong menu items.?? Rather than deal/fix it we just took it out of the tip.

The location is convenient and the ambiance is nice, but nothing else is as good as other locations. Hope management fixes this...
