How have I lived all my burger-eating life in Utah and not know that the burgers here are SO GOOD! Like shoot-to-number-one-place that we'll go when we want burgers. Above JCW's, Five Guys, Habit, Cubbys—all places we have loved. But Tonyburgers now gets the win, especially in the $8-$9 burger category. When we both took our first bites we just wide-eyed stared at each other as the shock of unexpected perfectly cooked beef and flavor-balanced toppings and condiments just blew our little brains. He got the southern burger, I got the Smoove Garlic. We immediately switched burgers to try the other's and "repeat opening scene* our minds just melted. WOW Tonyburgers, okay. I believe now that you've received Best in Utah ranking. Cuz honestly whenever I would see ads/coupons, I guess the pictures just seemed diner-ish, I dunno, never heard anyone around me rave about them or anything, so now I'll be the one who raves! Such great balance, full green leaves of lettuce, fresh and firm tomato, amazing sauce and fried onion strings, tart pickled jalapenos on the southern burger. Just everything on the burgers was so dang good. To the very last bite. We also ordered cheese curds and fries, and we knew about the awesome cheese curds from Freddy's to compare with, and Tony I'd say is better. Less salty (nice to then try it in a dip), but the same full cheesiness, and the breading is a bit crunchier and less greasy. So, very good. Fries are thin, not quite shoestring, but well cooked, crispy but still soft potato inside, tasty and satisfying (probably like thicker fries in general myself, like five guys and JCW's, but that's me. I love potatoes.) The hickory fry sauce is a great accompaniment to the fry, and the plain fry sauce is a good one. Now the ranch, my husband loved it. Not my fave, and I can't quite pinpoint why. It has a texture from Parmesan, and it just has a bit more herbal/peppery undertone to it I wasn't expecting. So maybe not my favorite, but it's specialized enough that you should give it a try. Kids meal menu has the usuals. Booths and tables with chairs, around 10 of each. Fill your own fountain drink and small pebble ice, yum. Order and pay, get a number stand for the tabletop, food brought to you, you clean it away. See you again soon, Tonyburgers! Gotta...
Read moreHerriman location- I’m newish to Utah and everyone raves about this place so I finally stopped by with my son. First thing was the cashier being unpleasant. Second thing was that the dining room was super messy and uninviting in general. Third thing was both our burgers were burnt to a crisp. You could barely even make out the cheese since that too was burnt. I looked over to the table next to us and there was a little girl eating the blackest grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever seen. Our fries were also a little over cooked but still had a great taste and that’s the reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1. I assume it’s not always like this?? I don’t know but I have zero desire to go back.
I hardly ever give reviews and I absolutely hate giving bad ones but I hope this helps bring about some change cuz we NEED good restaurants in Herriman.
Also…I wish I would have...
Read moreThe burgers and sandwiches here are really good, but I don't think these guys understand the care and hard work that goes into making a good batch of from-scratch fries. Maybe the other location has a proven method that this location is not following.
Fresh made fries should be prepped in the morning and fried at a lower temperature to cook the potato, then dried on a paper towel to remove grease. Then fried again when ready to serve at a higher temperature to finish them off and make them nice and crispy. My guess is these guys are not doing the first prep and just frying them once at serving time. Idk but they consistently produce soggy overly greasy fries with too much salt. Just my two cents, y'all could do with watching a few YouTube videos on how to make fries...
