Updated Review: We were in the area and decided to go back and try this place again. The experience this time around was quite different but they definitely need to adjust their staff.
One waitress and most of the tables had at least one person seated, some parties larger than others. The difference this time was that no matter how busy she got...she always came by our table to check in. How's it going, do we need anything etc. I didn't have to flag her down or try to make eye contact it's like she could read my mind.
The food was better, potatoes were still a little bland but not as dry as last time. My son got the kids breakfast burrito and the size was decent.
I'm much more open to coming back again than I was before.
Original: We were nearby on a Saturday morning and invited family out for a last min breakfast. The food was.. okay. Not terrible but nothing I'd insist on going back to eat again. The eggs and sausage were there best part, the potatoes were kind of bland. I would say food alone gives maybe 3 and a half stars but... The service is what killed the experience for me.
Initially walking in for breakfast it was very very slow with two waitresses. The first couple to come in after us appeared to be regulars knowing everyone by name and both waitresses chatted with them for awhile which wasn't a problem until my son knocked over his water and I had to wait 5 mins to get their attention. The rest of our party was late so we waited to order which was not the best decision. For the first maybe 15 mins our waitress would walk by and ask if we needed anything but by the time our family came the restaurant was fairly packed and with the same two waitresses it seemed like it would take forever to get served. One waitress finally came to the table but only asked if the late members of our party wanted drinks.. We'd been sitting there longer than anyone else in the restaurant so I assumed we'd be taken care of quickly. She took their drink orders and turned as if she was about to walk away. I told her we were ready to place our order for food and she said "Yeah I know, in a little bit." and walked away! My brother's jaw dropped and he tried to flag her back to the table but she kept going. I think we were all a little surprised at what happened.
About 10 mins later they finally came to take our order. When the food arrived there were a couple of things wrong but trying to get someone's attention to fix it was pointless. The guy cleaning plates off of the tables was quick to come to our aid when we were done eating which was appreciated but that was really the only positive part.
I'm sure we'll go back to try it again but it's going...
Read moreI wish I could give a better review. But I'm beginning to think maybe myself and these other customers ate at 2 different establishments.
The waitresses are very impersonal, when we walked in the one greeted us then waved her head and said go ahead, in reference to seating us. Waitress was friendly once she was taking our order. When our food was dropped at our table all 3 of our meals were cold. I sent mine back telling them it was cold, they kind of microwaved my Chilequiles, and brought it back still cold. My daughters huevos rancheros was cold, so we asked for that to be remade and instead of just saying OK the waitress said "I asked you if it was OK"... yes she did but that was before we had actually tried to eat our food, we said it was OK strictly off of presentation. So we convered our plates with a squirt of ketchup to ensure they actually got remade. When our food came back it was hot this time. But honestly it had no flavor, which is very unfortunate because it looked good.
We had high hopes coming here after reading these reviews from newest to 3 months back with only 1 bad review in those. I'm sad. I hate leaving bad reviews but please don't be snowballed by the many "good" reviews.
Prices are typical for breakfast cafes in the area, food looks great but lacks flavor and temperature. Sad to say, but we...
Read moreI have lived in Hesperia CA for almost twenty years and I have never entered the building that is now Jerry's Cafe! And trust me, I love cafe's but I just never got around to going in. But on Sunday the tenth of October I decided that I just needed to try something new and I walked into Jerry's Cafe. It was crowded and some people had to wait for a place to sit. Never once did consider leaving and going elsewhere. I just had to see what I had been missing out on. Well, I ordered the rib eye steak and eggs medium well done and the eggs sunny side up but I didn't want them runny. Well I got exactly what I asked for! Also as I was waiting for my order, I noticed that someone had ordered a wet green burrito 🌯 and when they brought that burrito out, it was steaming and huge! Oh, I thought to myself, next time...., You're next! There was details on that burrito that are rarely seen in green wet burritos nowadays. Ohh, can't forget to mention that all the servers sweet and friendly whether they serve you or others, they can be spoken with and you will get a friendly reply. Thanks again...
