Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Hickory

The prices are expensive, but it is a food court restaurant in a mall, so high prices are not surprising. The staff seemed friendly, and the free samples being given out were a great lure for a hungry customer to try one of their sandwiches.

The Chicken Philly and California Chicken (a name something to that nature) were the two sandwiches we purchased. Both sandwiches were full of meat and toppings, so it looked like a quality made sandwich visually as it was prepared. Both sandwiches had juicy, tender meat and well prepared vegetables that made the sandwiches feel like good quality food, despite the high price.

The French fries and loaded fries offered are very tasty as well, being good quality, more like fresh cut fries as opposed to fast food fries. At the end of the counter, a selection of flavored seasoning salts are offered to flavor up the fries. This was a really nice touch, and probably the one thing that made the higher prices feel more worth it overall. It's one thing to get fries (most every place has fries of some sort) but it's an entirely different French fry experience when you can season those fries however you wish.

Overall, the quality balanced out the higher prices, so this is a place I would eat at again. It's very hard to find an authentic cheese steak experience in the Hickory area, however this one is close enough to satisfy the desire should a cheese steak...

Spent $55 here last night, ordered a large Philly cheese steak with mushrooms onions and light green peppers, asked twice are you sure the mushrooms and onions are on it, the girl said yes absolutely, got home and there was NO mushrooms or onions on 2 of the subs I ordered and literally 1 piece of a green pepper on 1of the subs, so I really did not enjoy my sandwich at all, it's important to listen to what the customer asks for, this is the second time this has happened to me, and I probably won't risk a third, especially for the prices...

Got 2 Philly steaks combos and it was the worst food I have ever eaten from this place spent $35 for garbage no seasonings didn't hardly have any onions mushroom or peppers on the sandwich.I had ask for salt pepper and oil and vinegar to be added and was told to grab some packages of the items then proceed then turned to next customer never thanked us just threw our food on counter.
