NEVER AGAIN will I purchase anything from the Kay Jewelers in Hickory, NC. I have never been treated so rudely as I was from this store. Purchased a chain for a Christmas present and it has snapped in half twice in 7 months. I purchased a warranty, so the first time they sent it off to be repaired and within less than a month it snapped again in a different spot. I took it back and asked for a new one considering it was broken again. They said no problem would send it in to be damaged out and let me know when the new one was available to come pick up! Awesome! Go back to pick up the new one and the problems started. Neither one of the girls in there knew how to do the exchange so had to call another girl to come back to the store because she was at Zales talking to someone. She comes back to her job and the girl helping me asked her how to do it and the girl rolled her eyes at her and started to do it herself. She then began talking about the lifetime warranty being expired and I would have to purchase another warranty if I wanted the new chain covered. I questioned this and told her that was bs because I canât help the first chain I bought was apparently defective and why do I have to pay for another warranty. She tried to hand me a pamphlet to read, which I told her I didnât want. She proceeded to tell me their policy is that the warranty only covers the piece of jewelry purchased. Lol! I asked for customer service number which she writes down, lays on the counter, so I pick it up and she laughs in my face! Very unprofessional! She then told me since I bought the chain on sale I would have to pay the difference now because it is no longer on sale. I told her absolutely not, so she proceeded to hand me the old chain and hold the new chain up in my face and said well Iâm not giving you the new one because you are being rude! And I let her know I didnât want the old one back and wasnât leaving without the new one because I had a warranty which covers the chain and part of that is giving me a new one because the first one I bought was defective and full of soft spots that the lady working there even pointed out when I dropped it off broken. She then proceeded to say she was calling the VP which had to walk her through how to do the exchange. Talk about a lack of training considering no one knew how do anything. Finally get the new chain and still have the old one because they told me I could have it back and I walked out of the store. Almost to my car, I received a phone call from my husband saying they had called him and said âYour wife better bring that old chain back before she leaves this mall.â Then why give it back to me? So I took it back and handed it to the only lady in there that was friendly and walked out. I will never again waste my money buying anything from them especially when they treat customers this way and have no idea how to do their jobs! Was I rude? Absolutely! But when you come in with an attitude because you are bothered with having to do your job, tell me I owe you extra money when I have a warranty, and then get laughed at then you get...

I have called multipule times to try to get an update on what is going on and it takes them 30 minutes of constant calling to pick the phone up. I just want to know what is being done! It has almost been a week since they have told me my ring was lost and I still have no awnsers. The manager personally told me she would call me every day, even if it was from her own cell phone because the store was busy and that was the last time I talked to her 4 days ago. You do not want to be in my position feeling like nothing is being done about the loss of one of your most prized possessions. Please go somewhere else. Buy local so the jeweler can fix your problems with your ring in the store and doesn't have to send it off somewhere to be fixed if something goes wrong with it. And go somewhere that truly values your ring. Kays does not value you or your ring! They are treating me like I'm less than a number like I don't matter at all when they are the ones who lost my WEDDING RING!! The time, patience, caring , warmth and professionalism the staff gave me was out of this world!!! The assistant manager Monica extraordinary!!! The way she took care of the follow of customers in the store was like a beautiful melody, that was being played out. She made sure every customer was being taking care of and ask each of us how was our day at the same time smiling, doing her job and playing with babies. She took care of her staff by helping them with questions that had as well as the customers. Cleaning jewelry and looking at rings under the microscope .She is truly a ROCKSTAR as well as her staff!! The GM rocks as well! The whole team is the true definition of customer service and care!! My ring was fitted correctly and the diamonds/ work done was totally AMAZING!!!
