Handel's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Highland Village

First time trying their ice cream. The buckeye was by far the best flavor we tried and worth a return visit, the ice cream had great peanut-butter flavor and the little buckeyes were fantastic. The rest of the flavors left us wanting more! We tried the banana split (which doesn't have hot fudge but does come with 3 flavors of your choice) and the sampler (4 flavors). The vanilla and chocolate were ok, the strawberry was meh, not as strawberry as it could be, the black raspberry chocolate chip tasted like fake raspberry flavor. The pineapple upside down cake had very little to no pineapple taste and a ton of maraschino cherries (I thought they made a mistake and gave me the cherry ice cream). The coconut cream pie was also a let down, barely any coconut flavor, it was mostly just sweet cream taste with a little bit of coconut...

We visited for the first time today, excited to support a new ice cream parlor in Highland Village! Unfortunately it wasn’t the greatest experience. First of all, prices are not listed anywhere outside in the drive-thru, and portions were extremely small and disappointing.

We ordered 4 flavors to try a variety of their handmade flavors. Coconut cream pie tasted fresh and flavorful. Twister lacked any flavor, tasted like plain vanilla. Chocolate peanut butter brownie was decent, wish we had more than half a little scoop. We were given butter pecan instead of buckeye like we ordered. It was good for butter pecan, but not at all what we ordered.

Tonight’s experience may have been a result of growing pains, we will give them the benefit of the doubt and try again another time in the future. Hoping they are able to improve...

This place is so awesome. Their ice cream is definitely amazing. The ice cream is delicious and very creamy. Best Ice Cream joint I’ve gone to because it’s the creamiest ice cream and they have like 48 flavors to choose from.
