Instead of staying in, we took my mother-in-law out to a nice dinner at Stanford. The beginning of the year was not great for our family because my M.I.L. husband passed away less than six weeks ago, and today would have been their 55 years of marriage. I have been here a few times before, and they were never a bad service but today hit differently with everything going on. I knew going to dinner; I should be more 'present' at the table; we were seated within a few minutes of us arriving.

When our waiter Chris came to the table and made us crack a smile which was a great ice breaker, Chris got our water, and the Iconic Cheese Bread for appetizer had six pieces, and Chris recommended a few different things on the menu. As soon as the plate hit the table, the cheese bread all of a sudden got devoured in 2.5 seconds.

Since its Valentine's weekend, I knew the menu would be loaded with heavy food. A few minutes later, my eye caught something on the menu, and it was going to be light on my stomach, and that is what I was searching for. I wanted something fresh tonight. Then, suddenly, I saw Fresh Catch and Chris said it would be Sword Fish served with lime basmati rice and grilled asparagus with grilled lemon.

I had never had Sword Fish before sitting down, so this was a new experience; I just thought that I hope Chris was right about this pick. When they brought the food to the table, it looked just as good as someone could expect when there were no food pictures. I took a bite, and I let my taste buds go to work, and to my surprise, it was juicier in the middle, unlike salmon fish. The seasons on the fish were fresh, not overly done. The next bit, I mixed it with the orange sauce that came with O.M.G., my taste buds was in heaven.

After the second, third, and fourth bite, I wish it came in a 16 oz. The basmati lime rice tasted and was cooked perfectly. The rice did not overcook, and it was not dried out, which means it was a new batch, and the chef cooked the asparagus to perfection with the just-right amount of flavor on the asparagus. In my option, it got a bit better once I squeezed the grilled lemon on a few bites.

My table was EXTREMELY slow easters, so I ordered desert; Vanilla Crème Brûlé. I always order it, and it's nothing but a classic dessert. I know it was a bit heavy with the cream, but it was SO good.

Chris was nothing but professional. He came around at the correct times, made sure our drinks were steady flowing and checked on us to ensure we didn't need anything. There was another staff assistant, Chris, throughout the night. Make sure you sit in the Chris area you won't be disappointed with the service. I would score this experience 4 out of 5, which is saying a lot. I would equivocal come back to this...

Title: A Memorable Culinary Journey through Time at the Classic American Restaurant

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Classic American Restaurant, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to a bygone era of American history, with its classical ambiance and warm, inviting atmosphere.

The restaurant's decor was reminiscent of a traditional American eatery, adorned with vintage photographs, antique furnishings, and dimly lit chandeliers that added a touch of elegance. The attention to detail in recreating a nostalgic setting was commendable, and it truly enhanced the dining experience.

The menu boasted a delightful array of classic American dishes, and each bite was a tribute to the rich culinary heritage of the nation. I started with the mouthwatering New England Clam Chowder, which was creamy, flavorful, and filled with chunks of tender clams. It was the perfect appetizer to set the tone for the rest of the meal.

For the main course, I indulged in the restaurant's signature dish, the Slow-Roasted Prime Rib. The meat was impeccably cooked to medium-rare perfection, boasting a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and an explosion of robust flavors. It was accompanied by a side of creamy mashed potatoes and buttered green beans, both of which complemented the dish beautifully.

To top off the exquisite dining experience, I couldn't resist ordering a classic American dessert—the Apple Pie à la Mode. The flaky crust enveloped a warm, cinnamon-spiced apple filling, which paired wonderfully with the creamy vanilla ice cream. It was a sweet finale that left me longing for more.

Throughout the evening, the attentive and friendly staff provided excellent service, ensuring that every need was met and every question answered. The staff's knowledge of the menu and their genuine passion for American cuisine added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.

In conclusion, my visit to the Classic American Restaurant was a delightful journey through time. The combination of delectable traditional American dishes, the charming ambiance, and the exceptional service made it an experience I won't soon forget. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to savor the flavors of classic American cuisine in a warm and...

My husband and I stopped in to grab dinner on our way home after a weekend basketball tournament. I told my husband I felt like we were under dressed, as we were both in shorts and hoodies, but we had eaten here before and felt like treating ourselves.

Upon arrival, we were seated in one of the back dinning room areas. We were the only guests in the area, it was quiet, and kind of nice, honestly.

After about 10 mins, we hadn’t seen our server or even been offered drinks. Not a big deal, the place seemed pretty full and we had arrived just before the dinner rush. We waited a little longer, but began to think we had been forgotten about, and considered going elsewhere. Finally, our server came by to get our drink order.

When he returned with our drinks he emphatically apologized, asking if we had been waiting for about 18 mins. We smiled and said yes, and he again, apologized, noting that they had just opened that section for dining and that there was a miscommunication that we had been seated there.

We ordered some appetizers, our dinner, and while we were waiting, the male manager (a gentleman with longer hair) came by and also apologized, noting that he would take care of us and that he was truly sorry about the wait.

I’m writing this review because not only did we enjoy a wonderful meal, our service was top tier. Although a mistake was made, the staff was quick to apologize and ensure the remainder of our experience was to their standards. We were blown away with the customer service and sincere apologies, and while they didn’t need to “take care of us,” they went above and beyond to make it right.

We will definitely be back and the food was top notch. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and crab cakes as an appetizer, and the chicken pasta and a ribeye for our entrees. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly, and my pasta dish was flavorful and delicious. We also took the crème brûlée home for dessert. More than the food, we will be back to patronize a restaurant that put customer service at...
