My wife and I visited One Hot Mama's one lazy Monday. We arrived a few minutes before noon and there were several tables and booths available for seating, both indoor and outdoor. We chose indoor and were escorted to a booth with seating for 4-6 people, depending on size. Our food server soon arrived. She was friendly, welcomed us, asked if we had any questions with the menu, and took our drink orders. I ordered an iced tea and my wife had lemonade. The beverages were served in modest plastic drinking glasses with straws, which fit the vibe of the restaurant perfectly: comfortable and casual. My wife said that her lemonade was good, and my iced tea was crisp and clear, not bitter or cloudy. For lunch my wife ordered a lunch special, which consisted of a meat choice along with a choice of three sides. She chose pulled pork with mac and cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. I chose a different lunch special that came with a meat choice and a salad. I chose smoked fried chicken with a chicken pecan salad. We both sampled from each other's plates, and enjoyed everything we ate. The pulled pork was pulled well, with no globs of fat that needed to be manually removed. The smoked fried chicken was moist with a pleasant smoky flavor. The chicken pecan salad had mandarin oranges, strawberries, pecans, chicken, and crunchy noodles served with romaine lettuce with an interesting citrus vinaigrette dressing. The dressing was tangy-sweet and complemented the salad perfectly. Of the three sides that my wife ordered, I enjoyed the collard greens the most. The baked beans were good, but not so exceptional that they were a "must order" for future trips. The mac and cheese was also good, with the cheese velvety smooth in a way that reminded me of processed cheese (which is not a bad thing, in my opinion, for mac and cheese). Both meals also came with a slice of cornbread drizzled with honey. It was very good! We felt that the price for lunch was fair given the amount and quality of food that was served. All in all, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendliness and helpfulness of the food server, as well as the quality of the food. It will definitely be a place that we add to our rotation of...

My friend and I were excited to try this place as it has good reviews and we like BBQ. On arrival the place had a great vibe, what you'd expect for an American BBQ joint.

Initially our server seemed friendly enough and recommended that the place was known for its brisket, pulled pork and wings.

Although the rating I gave the place is low, credit where credit is due, the starters we got were good. Mac'n'cheese bites and chilli cheese fries. These were both delicious.

For main I had pulled pork and beef brisket with jalapeno corn bread with stuffing and mash & gravy. The mash and gravy, again was delicious. The corn bread was okay. The pulled pork was pretty tasteless until overloading it with the table BBQ sauce. The brisket I did not enjoy, it was nearly all fat and that was the only taste it left in the mouth. A shame as the little meat that was present pulled apart wonderfully.

The big issue with the food was the chicken my friend ordered. It came out bleeding near the bone.

This is when the service plummeted too. When this was politely pointed out, our server stated "it's okay because it's smoked" In a dismissive tone. When we explained that the chicken was not edible if it's bleeding she continued to be dismissive and offered to "take it away". I had to ask her to replace it with something else (beef brisket) which she did. She then charged the additional $2 for upgrading the plate to beef brisket, not something I perceive to be good practice after potentially poisoning a customer.

The overall experience with the food and attitude of staff left a lot to be desired. Not a restaurant I would recommend based on...

Yes sir!!! 🗣🤌🏾 A+ Approved! Where to start?? Oh I know, pick a dish any dish. I had BBQ chicken, a whole one so 2 halves. The BBQ itself reminded me of BBQ back home in Louisiana. Had the sauce on the meat and not just on the side. Had a little bit of char or as we call it burnt skin pieces. Yes the black parts. Believe it or not, some people love those char parts, and I'm some people lol. Tender and juicy just how I like it. The sauce had a sweet vibe to it but not too sweet, the perfect vibe. Brisket is what my wife loves. I liked this one buuuuttt have had better. To me it was slightly dry and had some chewy parts. Dip some sauce on it and let it fly. Now its better. 😋Those greens though. Wow, never thought I could review a side dish but yes. The greens were outrageous. It seemed like One Hot Mama soaked it in greatness before dropping it on my plate. 🗣 Freaking get the greens and don't ask no questions! Do I even have room to talk about that God tier cornbread.... Sweet, moist, soft, pepper hot but subtle. Had a lil honey drizzling on the top. Just real good. Even the Mac and Cheese slap! It was creamy goodness. Guys, One Hot Mama is One Hot Mama. That's all I can say. I had my food to go but I'll still drop pics. Now, last thing. Service was good but they did get my order wrong and I had to let them know. I'm pretty sure they were busy but let's stay efficient. I did not have a bad experience and the food overall was great! 5 stars.

My family and I visited here this past week while in the area and I'm really on the fence about it. . Let's start with the atmosphere. This place has a really awesome vibe. The decor, the music, the employees, etc were all really cool. As far as service goes, it was sub-par. Our food got to us quickly, our server was incredibly friendly, but the entire time we were there, she never asked if we needed drink refills. Literally, not one time. Luckily, we didn't need one, but that (in my opinion) should go without saying. They were also out of brisket, pulled pork, and Mac & Cheese. . The food...I got the Devil Burger, and it was absolutely incredible. I did add bacon to it as well. The devil sauce is habanero-based, so it's got heat, but not enough to ruin the burger entirely. Fries were probably my favorite restaurant fries that I've ever had. . Now, let's talk about these wings. I got their garlic parmesan and Frank's Red Hot flavor. They were terrible. They were dry, cold, the flavor wasn't that good, and they seemed to have been sitting out for hours. I hate to be so harsh, but these were by far the worst wings I've ever had at a restaurant. I'd like to give them another chance since there are so many good comments about them, but I'm extremely hesitant. . Will I go back? Yes, but I'm definitely not going to recommend this place to anyone.
