Showed up on a Thursday around 11:30. Our group included 6 adults, 2 young kids and 2 babies. Literally no other customers besides us in the entire establishment. No one bowling, no one in the arcade, no one dining. Just staff milling around waiting for someone to show up. We asked to bowl. The lady working the bowling counter asked how many. We had 7 people interested in bowling. She said that would mean we needed 2 lanes. 6 was the max per lane. We said that one lane would be fine and we’d just rotate out. She said that only 6 of us could bowl and if a seventh person was seen bowling (even if we took turns) that she’d have to charge us for another lane. We thought that was silly but one of the adults who was planning to bowl volunteered to sit out altogether (depriving the alley of an extra $5 shoe rental fee they would have had). We didn’t make a fuss about it. Before we headed over to the lane she pointed out that each lane had a couch and that we needed to stay on our couch. Lanes 1 and 2 each had couches facing each other separated by a table. Same setup for lanes 3-4 and 5-6. When I asked if we could sit on the lane 2 couch so long as no one else was using that lane we were told no…because they’d have to desensitize two couches. Considering that no one else was there at all we found that to be wildly ridiculous. We rented our single lane and 6 shoes for an hour and took special care not to touch the other empty couch right next to us even though no one else was on lanes 2-6 for 45 min. One other couple arrived as we were wrapping up and were assigned to lane 3. The bowling itself was fine but after the way the experience started we had no desire to eat there or explore the arcade. Simply put, going out of the way to make sure we didn’t touch another couch in an empty building was enough to sour the experience and take a 4-5 star bowling...
Read moreHad an OK experience at best. We had a larger party so I completely understand and a young waitress I do feel bad for. We’re from out of town and decided to try Gutter Chaos on our stay. We got there today around 12 and it took awhile before our waitress got our order for drinks. Food came out slow as they said they had a few issues getting our order in correct, and when they came out several items were either incomplete, incorrect, or wrong items all together. One thing I noted that was frustrating is my burger came out with toppings I did not ask for, they took it back and brought me a “new” one only 2 minutes later. I tasted said toppings immediately and could tell they just scraped off the toppings rather than correcting their issue.
Then come to the check, we split between the party found they did not split us correctly. Our waitress was incredibly sorry and she did her best, just seemed too inexperienced or overwhelmed for all of us and I get that.
We then got to a lane for bowling after being in que for 90 minutes, bowling is definitely on the pricier side but I really don’t mind the cost - my issue was how messed up their games were. The pins use old string technology, and do not accurately represent each turn correctly. Several occasions, someone would land a gutter and it would display 2 points, other times we would knock 7 down and the display read 9 and incorrectly layed our pins back down. Spending $36 for an hour on top of $4 shoe rentals, you’d think they would have a modern system to accurately...
Read moreMy husband and I came here for date night and were shocked at the price. It’s $36/hr per lane, which the response to other reviews condescendingly said to “do some simple math” to try to break it down to say it’s $10/hr, but hear what people are saying. $36/hr for TWO people is outrageous, regardless of how many games you play. There needs to be a better option for smaller parties. The service was decent, but the food was also over priced for the quality. We got fried Mac bites which were obviously pre-made from frozen and a little disappointing, then we got an order of chicken strips which was $11 for THREE tenders and two pieces of toast, no side included, which is a little ridiculous too. The cheese fries we ordered with shredded cheese came out not melted, so not only did they not stick to the fries, they made a huge mess. I promise I’m not a cheap person. But we did the math compared to bowling at Paris Lanes, and we could have bowled the same amount of games for literally half the price. We enjoyed ourselves because we chose to have a good time, but it’s was 100% not worth the $200+ we spend for what should have been a simple date night. We don’t even spend that much going out in Downtown Dallas. The drinks were moderately priced so that’s not bad. Over all the facility is beautiful, but you can tell they’re over compensating their lack of business with high prices. I would find something else to do if...
