09-18-2024, first visit and their first week open. Now a good part of this review will be based on my personal preferences and I know that I will not influence corporate recipes. I had the club sandwich and hated the honey mustard, too sweet and something that I would never purchase for myself. Mustard should be tangy., not sweet, so my mistake, if I order the sandwich again, I'll order it without the honey mustard. This came with a choice of sides, I picked the potato salad, which was average at best. When's the last time anyone had a wow experience with potato salad? I also had a cup of the chicken tortilla soup, this soup comes in two basic styles, broth or creamy. This was the latter and not the style that I prefer. Taste was not bad, but I could not detect any chicken in it.
So, McAllister's, don't take this as a bad review. There are things on your menu that I will like better. But I do have a question, on your website, there are menu selections that say that they are unavailable at the Holland location. Is this a temporary thing? Example: lasagna soup.
Second visit 09-30-2024, ordered a Reuben sandwich, side of macaroni and cheese, and the chili. The macaroni and cheese was unimpressive and cooled down really fast. The chili was just okay, no crackers including, and zero heat, was a bit gritty in consistency. The sandwich was good, lots of meat, but could have used more sauerkraut and perhaps some mustard. The dill pickle was the star...
Read moreThe food mid and overpriced The service is neither here nor there it fiends on who is working usually they are all nice and polite.
Now when I first visited this mcallisters it was great everybody was friendly and outgoing. Now tho I can’t help but notice a change especially in the way one particular managers acts. His name? Steve. He seems to have a very nasty attitude sometimes coming off as arrogant to his coroners and his employees I talked to a couple of people that worked there and they have said that he has a very short temper if things aren’t done his way. Which is unfortunate because this is supposed to be a place of business. There was a short Black girl who brought us our food and me and my husband noticed her she had. Been there since the very beginning. She always smiled was very polite and understanding great customer service all around. But she seemed very off that day and we had noticed him yelling at her behind the register in a very not so good manner. Absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for it seems this place runs a very tight ship. Which is understandable but he didn’t even do it in a...
Read moreOuch! Talk about pricey for a deli. My wife wanted to pickup dinner from here and asked me to find something that looked good on their menu. I found something that looked OK; a 12" french dip which the online menu claimed "includes a side" and listed 19 side options (some were repeated). This is somewhat false advertising, as once I went to actually place my order the majority of side options (of which there are suddenly only 9 options?) for a NEARLY $17 FRENCH DIP, had up charges. $22.14 for a french dip and a small cup of soup from a deli? No thanks. Then it tries to default to a 15% tip (for what exactly?) bringing the order to over $25 for a very light meal for one person? We're a family of 3, and would be looking at $75 - $100 for all 3 of us, possibly more once drinks or dessert are added! I closed the tab and we ordered from Arby's. I ordered a french dip, large fries and a drink for half the price. I guess this place is targeted at people who make 6+ figures a year, because that's just not affordable for most of us. If I'm going to spend $100 on a meal, it'll be a special occasion at Butch's, not a...
