Read moreWife and I came here this evening to grab some dinner. We've been a handful of times in the past, so we figured it was business as usual - walk in, order your food, pay and eat. Well, I ordered a "large" #1 and she does a "create-your-own" - we sit down, and I take a look at the receipt - they added a $1 surcharge to each of our bowls for the Vietnamese pork (above the menu price) and then a 3% credit card fee.
The listed menu price on the wall ($14.95) isn't even the price on the receipt ($14.85). Add in the fact that there is no price listed at all for the "create-your-own" so I'm not sure if the $13.85 is the correct price. A bottle of case water is $2.50 and finally, they didn't even ask about my rewards / number.
Regardless, this place has changed a lot since the original owners were here in-store. The employees aren't friendly anymore, the portions are small, and the prices have gotten out of hand when you consider 80% of the bowl is rice / noodles and a small amount of "protein". $36 for two bowls and a bottle of water - I'd just as soon spend that at another restaurant who values our business.
I'm glad the owners are doing well enough to expand to another location but for $3 in "surcharges" you've lost our business...
Read moreThe food and atmosphere here are absolutely amazing! The blends of flavors, the serving sizes, everything is just so good and the prices are almost too low for the quality and amount of food that you get here! And the drinks?! They are so amazing! Don't pass on the creme brulee! We've tried a few of the teas and the blended slushie drinks too and they've all been top tier! I wish I'd taken pictures of the food but it looked and tasted so good we were already eating it before we thought about it! Can't wait to go back!
And for anyone worried about the spice levels, the spice is controlled entirely by you - they give you little containers of the spice sauce to mix in as much or as little as you like - so if you don't usually do well in the spice department, use experiences like Emily's as a cautionary tale and maybe don't go all in pouring all of the spices at once - mix it in a little at a time and go from there until you find your happy spot! If you're like me though and love spice? You can even get extra! 🥰 I can't recommend Upleaf enough! Go...
