Figured the owners might want to know about their staff....
I arrive at 8:49 to order a pizza to go. I walk in and everyone is cleaning. They look at me like are you serious???? I said hi! I would just like to order a pizza to go, thinking there will be relief but they are like ummm well we haven’t had customers for 20 minutes. In my head I’m thinking okay, well it says you close at 9, you have a lighted sign that says open and the flip sign in the door says open, I’m sorry should I assume you’re closed? Of course I didn’t say that and say well can I just get 1 pizza to go. She said honestly I don’t even know if our oven is on. Then she asks and the guy says “technically”. In retrospect, why I didn’t walk out at this point is beyond me. She said well “technically they are on”. What did you want? I said just a pizza, not sure which are vegan. She said either crust but we can do thin for you. I said well I’d prefer deep dish. She says well technically we can make that. Actually I don’t know if the toppings are still out. Then she asks, finds out they are is and says “technically they are”. She said technically minimum 5 times. Also,, everyone is staring at me. Like is she really going to still order food? I did and then she says well it’s going to be 30-40 minutes. I was about to pay and she said well it’s going to take 30-40 minutes. Okay, I got that, I heard you. Obviously she was was continuously trying to steer me out. They still had to bring in all of the patio furniture from outside and finish closing. Literally just throw the pizza in the oven and make money for the company you work for.
Needless to say, what if a 10 top walked in? What if I rushed over here from out of town to get a vegan deep dish pizza like I did? What if I’m just a paying customer and you all are open? This is why corporate stores survive because of CONSISTENCY. If you want to stop making pizzas at 8:30pm then close at 8:30pm. I didn’t set the time on the pie to 30-40 minutes.
All I can say is I hope no one dragged meat on the pizza or spit on it.
Please speak to your staff about customer service. I run a vegan food blog and I’ve been in the food biz for 15 years - this...
Read moreI called ahead and made an order that everyone wanted for pick-up that at the time they wanted it so then it couldn't be changed up on arrival. When I got there the girl at the counter was very polite and social. She asked me if I would like a mask for free because I came in without one. I would have wore it in but I expect to be in and out with only a few seconds. When I got my pizza she gave me some packets of peppers and a small cup of Parmesan cheese she asked me "how many will be enjoying the pizza this evening" and I said 5 not including myself. So she gave me 6 plates and plastic ware. At this point I thought that the price was a little over moderate but I reminded myself you get what you pay for. When it came time to eat the pizza we went to a local park and when I open the box the pizza looked very fresh and all the vegetables that were on the pizza where cooked to Perfection. The sauce was tangy the way I like it with a little bit of spice and it had a nice thick consistency but not too thick and not too saucy. The cheese was very robust and had a nice stretchy stringy texture even though the Pizza had cooled down a little. It was absolutely delicious. I had the 18 in thin crust pepperoni mushroom, onion, sun-dried tomatoes with green olives on half, artichoke in the other half. It was quite the experience. When it comes to the crust, the crispy parts where a good soft grainy texture, and held together all of the toppings just right. I actually have never had this flavor of pizza before and we enjoyed it a lot! I'm giving them 5 stars because their service was amazing, the pizza was ready quickly and the quality of the crust 54 is absolutely a different Pizza experience. Dining area had tall booths and cool environment. Good selection of Ales on tap one of my favorites I seen was 2 hearted. I've had a lot of different pizzas and have been all over the United States this was one of the best that I've had. I'll definitely be dining in next time. I hope you're ready for me next...
Read moreI ordered my carry out pizza at 6:06 PM. Paid online with a credit card. When I got my email receipt there was an item missing from what I ordered. I called an was asked to hold. I waited 10 min on hold. I hung up and called back. They answered right away this time. The employee said there was no order for me. I told her I paid for it the order should be there. She insisted it wasn’t maybe I ordered it from the other location. The time is now 6:55. I called the Washington store and they didn’t have my order. I called back to 8th street and a different young lady I think it was Hanna answered. I asked to speak with a manager. She said there was not one there. I again asked about my order. She said there was an order for me that it would be ready about 7:35. They called and I go in to pick it up. When I get there none of the young girls working at the counter are wearing masks, the guy standing talking with the girls wadi wearing a mask. One of the girls seems to get on the phone just having a conversation not taking an order. I will never order another pizza from Crust 54. I will not recommend anyone order a pizza from Crust 54. They need to have someone in charge of the place so a bunch of unsupervised teens are not...
