Playa Beach Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Hollywood

Family & I were there earlier this week, and aside from the beautiful oceanfront view, our waitress, Martha’s service REALLY sucked. Two other african-american gentlemen (specifying ethnicity as they seemed to be two of only a few african-american workers there, & it should be noted who was actually kind & helpful) had to step in and update us on our order, etc, & they weren’t even our table’s waiter. Martha did not check in with us throughout our extremely long wait for the food or during our meal, and it wasn’t very busy @ the time. When we did snag her, she half answered questions & immediately dashed to another table before even completing a sentence.??? She even had the nerve to bring a dirty carryout container before we left. The frozen drinks were really good there, but the food was just merely okay, & coupled with Martha’s service, I’d have to say it definitely was no bueno. We’ve been here many times before over the pst couple of years and always enjoyed the menu, however that menu has changed and now everything is a disappointment. They used to have a good mix of heavy and lighter items, but now everything is super heavy and served hot. It’s the very last kind of food you’d want to eat in 90°+ weather with the sun beating down. Especially poolside. Their $24 burger is a frozen patty. And their $27 nachos contain zero real melted cheese, only a disgusting, liquid, oozing “cheese sauce” and the chicken comes in giant, rock-hard chunks. Charging nearly $30 for this abomination should result in criminal charges. And there is no consistency- my daughter ordered the kids’ grilled cheese two days in a row. The sandwich was different each day and the fries were served with different brands of condiments on each day. On a positive note, the kids’ hot dog was a decent size and tasted great. Playa Beach Bar and Grill is an absolute gem! We were greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The beachfront location offers stunning views, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal.

The food was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We particularly loved the seafood dishes, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. The cocktails were equally impressive, with a great selection of creative and classic options.

The service was impeccable; our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The live music added to the fun and laid-back ambiance, making our evening even more enjoyable.
