We reserved the stage area at Pelican Harry's for a private celebration on a Saturday 5/6/23 at 1:00pm . My wife reserved this with Jim the manager on 4/5, one month before the party was scheduled to take place. She also called the restaurant on Friday, 5/5/23 the day before to confirm the reservation. When we arrived 45 minutes early to set up the decorations we noticed the stage area where our party was supposed to be held was already occupied by another party. When we questioned what had happened, the staff had no idea. They did not know how this could have happened. Then they proceeded to ask us who we booked the party with and my wife told them Jim the manager. The person asking us tried to make it out like it was our fault and insinuated that we did something wrong (really?) Their solution was to just give us another area in the restaurant and everything would be just fine. Here you can use these tables and chairs and a few booths if you want them too. Wowl This was very nice of them, but obviously, not what we were expecting. Unfortunately, there were no other options available so so my wife and soon to be daughter in law basically took over and found a way to make it work. (what other choice did we have, we had people arriving in 45 minutes). I was a little taken back by the way this whole thing was handled; after all this was not our mistake, it was theirs! You mean to tell me that now this is our problem and we are being forced to come up with a contingency plan to help them! With no other options available we started arranging tables and chairs to make the area look somewhat private. The staff basically followed our lead and helped as much as they could. ( I am just glad there wasn't a big game going on or we would have been completely out of luck.) Unfortunately, the unprofessional manner in which management decided to handle our reservation and the lack of concern regarding the mistake and the fire drill they put us through put a huge damper on the celebration we had planned for the celebration of our son receiving his "Masters Degree". I was perplexed! How do you double book a party that was reserved one month ahead of time and confirmed the day before? I thought this was a no brainer, apparently I was wrong! Oh well, as I said before we made it work. There was one person who saved the day for us and that was our waitress Leina. She was simply incredible and went above and beyond to make sure all of our guests were well taken care of. (if you ever get her for your waitress, you will not be disappointed.) I will also add that the food was good and everyone enjoyed it. My only advice to any of you reading this review, (if your ever brave enough to book a party at Pelican Harry's) please double and triple check to make sure your reservation is confirmed. (and maybe call the day of to check again with management.) If you do this, you may be able to avoid the stress of what happened to us. Quite honestly, I don't know how much more we could have done, short of checking every day the week before to make sure they didn't give our reserved spot away. They didn't even offer to take a small percentage off our bill for the inconvenience. No big deal here, we made sure we took care of Leina because unlike Pelican Harry's, we wanted to thank her for her efforts. After all, it wasn't her fault the reservation we made was handled so poorly by management... I must say, it's a little concerning when you suddenly find yourself in a situation where you have to find a way make it work! What's even worse is when you realize that you're in this position because of something that had nothing do with you! Oh well, I hope this review helps you our if you ever decide to have a gathering at Pelican Harry's. Personally, I would never...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in for a quick drink and dinner. We sat at the bar near the servers well area. The food we ordered was really good. The fried green beans and the chips and salsa were excellent. My husband ordered the the chorizo burger and I ordered the quesadilla . We were both satisfied with the entrees. That’s where it ends. The servers where not friendly. The bartender was busy and really needed help. The server that was waiting tables would come back to the bar to place an order and cuss and go on about whatever she was upset about. She did finally apologize to my husband for having to listen to her bad attitude. The manager of the bar was planning a golf outing and that was his main goal. He was going around to the customers he apparently knew and was having them sign up and pay for it. He was oblivious to the train wreck around him. When we left the other two servers that had come in for their shift were leaning against the wall by the servers station with unhappy looks on their faces. My husband and I go out for drinks and dinner most weekends. We enjoy trying new places that include friendly staff. This will not be a place we will be returning to. I hope they will realize good service also is what brings people back to an eating establishment, not sourpuss and...
Read moreAfter hearing so many positive reviews about their pizza, we decided to go check it out Saturday night. The air conditioner was working well and cooled us off quickly from the 96° temperature outside. Music Playlist was a mixture of rock, old school hip hop jams, and 90's alternative. We were greeted by the bartender within 2 minutes. She served us some ice cold brewskies. We ordered a thin crust pizza with sausage, mushroom, onion, and green pepper well done. This order was placed at 10:40 pm. The kitchen is open until 11. It definitely lived up to all the hype. The crust was thin and crispy from edge to center, providing a nice crunch with each bite. The sauce was zesty; not too sweet nor acidic. The cheese was tasty and had a nice pull. All the ingredients were freshly cut, even the mushrooms. The sausage was delicious and plentiful, with a fennel forward taste. The pizza was cooked exactly as ordered. The kicker is 1/2 price pizza on Saturdays. Highly recommend checking this place out. They also have outdoor covered dining, perfect for more comfortable outside...
