Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Homestead

Not once but twice I've gone to Sonic and had a really bad experience. The first time I went to the drive-thru and had to wait over an hour after already ordering my food my order was very simple it was just a Sonic burger and a drink with fries. Somehow they lost my order in the kitchen didn't realize they lost it and it manager spoke to me and apologized. I waited another 10 minutes for my food because they did give me my drink. The second time we pulled into their Drive-In. My friend and I made our orders and they were taken over an hour later nobody came to speak to us or even take our money for the order we made. I saw other people get their orders that arrived after us. I also saw an attendant come up to our car asking if we ordered a kids meal which we didn't. Now the drive in stalls should be numbered. There's also a walk-up window where you can order and a drive-thru window you can order. For whatever reason it seems like Sonic doesn't know where their orders are being taken. So after over an hour of waiting I pulled into the drive-thru. It took us another 30 minutes at the drive-thru before we could even talk to anyone. we told them through the intercom that we had already made our order and we've been waiting for over an hour. They asked what our order was and we repeated it back. They told us that they had our order to just pull up. We pulled up they asked for what our order was again and then another 10 to 15 minutes went by before they actually gave us our food. We went home and when I took a sip of my strawberry limeade it was not mixed. Taking a sip of pure sour that was at the bottom of my drink literally made me tear up because of how much concentrated sour stuff was at the bottom. Typically one of the only reasons I go to Sonic versus any other fast food restaurant is to get limeade slushes or lemonade slushes. So for them to have ruined my drink on top of making me wait for an hour more than twice I don't think I will be going back to Sonic again. I kid you not with how strong whatever they put at the bottom of the drink that they didn't mix was literally made me be in tears. I gagged really hard from it. And I'm the type of person who will gladly open up a lemon and eat it like an orange. And I'll have no problem eating raw lemons but this stuff was beyond sour. Then I went to my sandwich which looked like it was mashed together and sitting around for a while and I kid you not there was like 12 pickles on it. I took them out of their pile and counted them the tomatoes that were on my sandwich looked really bad too. The tater tots we got were not fresh. My friend's chili dog however was okay. The sandwich tasted okay except my buns were soggy and what as if somebody dropped them in...

Fun fast food joint.

I went here for the first time today. I haven’t been to a Sonic in Florida. I’ve visited them in other states. We live about a 25 minute drive from here. We decided to have a special date and drive down. My daughter wanted to eat the food at home so we went through the drive through.

I’m not a big fast food person. I had looked at the menu online and saw a grilled chicken sandwich and figured I’d order that with a lettuce bun. However upon arrival I realized this was not on their menu. I got a crispy chicken sandwich instead and a medium side of tater tots. My daughter got the #3- a double bacon cheeseburger with fries and a strawberry limeade. Altogether our bill was $21.50.

Like I said, I don’t eat fast food, so I can’t compare the food to any other fast food place. However, what I did eat was good. It was tasty. Not too greasy. Still warm by the time we got home, and it was reasonably priced. I was actually still a little hungry after eating my chicken sandwich and tater tots. But this isn’t something you should be eating in large quantities. My daughter, surprisingly, finished her huge double bacon cheeseburger! She didn’t eat the fries because they were a little cold. She liked the strawberry limeade, but said it had chunks of strawberries in it and they were getting caught in the straw so it was hard to drink.

The staff was very friendly, hard working, efficient and professional. I would definitely go back again if my daughter wanted to go again.

For a fast food restaurant, this place accomplishes its purpose. Fast, tasty, cheap food. I like that they also have “fun” menu items like slushies with Nerds in them. Next time I visit I’d like to order from a car hop...

Had a horrible experience today at 7pm Sept 7th 2025, at the Sonics in Homestead on Campbell drive. I'd like to report the absolute horrible customer service you have working at this location. The person taking my order was in such a rush that all she did was continue talking over me. I constantly got interrupted while giving my order. I noticed my order was wrong on the screen I tried to correct her but it was no use . She continued to speak over me, kept interrupting repeating what else what else? She wanted to take the order but not correct what was on screen. She kept calling me sir even after I told her I wasn't a sir and that my order was wrong she then replied that I sound like a sir to her and continued to repeat it. She then said she was hanging up on me and refused to take my order. I asked for a supervisor and she hung up on me. I walked over to the door to ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and all the girls in there fled to the back no one came out to speak to me when I knocked on the window to get their attention. I will never return to this location again I refuse. I wanted to let you know the type of people you have working here. They don't care about the reputation of your franchise. It's not like there are no other options here. There are so many other establishments and restaurants to choose from. This isn't the first time this place gets the order wrong either. It’s a shame I’ve never written a bad review before but this is just plain wrong. I could imagine how many other people have had bad experiences with them.
