Farm Bowl and Juice Co. — Restaurant in Homewood

We found this during a roadtrip thru Alabama and the google page made it look promising. But now I think the people that have left this place good reviews maybe have not been anywhere better? Because I can't see what people like about this place so much. I was very disappointed with the product we received.

(The Flavor) first, was sad that they don't make any fresh juice for each customer, and the bottled juice they do have tastes watered down and old - gross! We got 2 of the Hustle Juice and 1 Green Machine, all 16oz, plus a little bottle of Kombucha that we like, 8oz (the booch was the only thing that tasted good, and it's not even their product!). My smoothie was the Slim Shady plus almond butter, as that was a recommended addon. The flavor is okay? Not sure that the combination really works for me but it's not bad. Personally, I do not think they should be called a bowl AND JUICE company. The juice they have tastes awful and it's not made fresh to order.

(The Price) All together for our 5 items, we paid just under $50. We are on vacation and not exactly searching for bargains, and we wanted to stock up for our long drive, so the price wasn't really a big deal at the moment, but I do think that the prices are high, especially when only the smoothie was actually made there. Nearly $10 per pre-bottled juice that tastes diluted? Yikes!! (I have been to different shops that provide way more juice for less money, and the juice was made right in front of me. Pure juice. However, it was all the way down in Florida and unavailable to us.)

(The Staff) Anyway, the cashier was very polite but unfortunately had to answer the phone during our visit and gave us the wrong smoothie by mistake. We didn't realize and she had to catch us as we were walking down the street back to our car, then come back in to get the correct smoothie. Honest mistake and she apologized more than once.

I'm sure that if we were locals, we likely still would not come back. Overpriced and didn't taste good, especially the juice which was the main reason we even stopped. I feel like we wasted our time and money...

I stopped here because of the healthy menu selections. I was greeted kind of nervously by the lady in the front with a lot of make up on! The guy seemed to be more of her interest and I could see why he was pleasant to some degrees. I decided to get the Slim Shady as he suggested. I waited less than 5 minutes as I was only customer at the time. Then I sat there thinking how unwelcome I felt and awkward by the lady with all the make up and the guy. So I get my order sipped a few sips of it. It wasn't what I expected at all. The ginger ratio is too much and it basically looked and tasted like green slime of some kind! I see that this place has potential but with the employees and drinks it needs to be "retwerked" not trying to be sour but I'm giving honest feed back. I also wasn't asked if I liked it...of course I didn't! I also wasn't asked to come back...probably want! Let me note also the price is extremely out of touch with what you get. $8.80 for a smoothie that was just upsetting in taste and flavors not to mention that is the small size. I am very disatisfied with the service of friendliness and genuine concerrn! I was appalled more so that it all went horribly and I expected so much more. Since posting it, the owner has reached out to me and taken great care to understand our experience and made efforts to ensure it’s better for everyone going forward. Revisited the location without staff’s awareness and can say that the service/food was back to the level we had previous come to expect. Super grateful to have a spot like this in town!

Dropped from Five to Two stars. Went out of my way to bring home a light treat for dinner. Called ahead to order two Nutty Professors @6:30p; $22, they estimated it would be ready in 10. I was the only vehicle in line when I pulled up ~8 minutes after placing my order. She insisted I wait at the window as cars were piling up behind me for the next 10 minutes. While waiting, 3 other employees came to the window to ask if they could help me. When I finally got the bowls, I didn’t look at them until arriving home. When I opened the bag, it was super disappointing. Farm Bowl’s açaí bowls used to be packed with goodness. This time, however, the depth of the açaí did not even reach past half the head of my spoon. The fruit was sparse and the granola included large clumps that were inedible due to being so dense. Poor service. Poor product. Sad end to what was once the best açaí...
