I ordered pick up over the phone from this location. I have eaten at this location many times in the past. This particular time I found a crumbled straw wrapper in my salad. This was after eating half of the salad. I then found a torn off piece of a straw wrapper also in the salad. So at this point I've found an entire straw wrapper in my salad. So it was not put there by mistake. This led me to believe that either my salad was reused from a table or an employee making the salad put an entire straw wrapper into my salad. I dont think that an employee would have put a straw wrapper in my salad because I was not rude on the phone when I ordered my and my wife's meal. In fact I would rate my interaction with the person taking my order as a 5/5. I then called the manager and she informed me that salad would not be reused and that the straw wrapper would have been put there by mistake during the making of the salad. But again it was a WHOLE straw wrapper in TWO pieces how could that mistake be made twice? The manager on duty was very nice and she said she would send me a comp for my meal. Living in Birmingham for the past 10 years I've come here a number of times, and I'm being honest when I say that every meal I have had here has been mediocre- sub par at best. The food is bland. Plain and simple. I don’t mind simple hearty food. I love it in fact, but this place has failed to execute every single time, and I’ve tried salads, plates, wraps, and sandwiches. It’s not difficult to season and cook veggies, or put together a flavorful sauce with a few ingredients.

On my most recent experience I had broccoli salad, which was inedible. Unfortunate because I don’t even mind plain raw broccoli, but they somehow managed to ruin it. Basically raw broccoli with some grapes and barely there sauce that failed to tie the dish together. Next was the chicken salad sandwich...the chicken salad is basically a paste and the bread was plain un toasted sandwich bread. For the price and reputation, I expected a lot more, like some pecans & grapes or something in there. You could literally get the same thing at a gas station or school cafeteria. To begin with, we ordered the Turkey Crunch and Urban Cowboy, but were brought a Cuban sandwich instead of the turkey. Once we notified an employee that we received the wrong sandwich, they resolved the issue quickly, so no big deal. We were really excited about the Urban Cowboy, but were less than pleased when the steak on the sandwich was dry, overcooked, and lacking in flavor. I was disappointed in the Urban Cowboy until they brought the Turkey Crunch. The sandwich was so bad, we had a hard time eating it. I'm not sure if it was the slaw, or the flavors in general, but everyone at our table tried the sandwich and thought it was disgusting. Finally, my friend got what she thought was strawberry lemonade, but the orange-colored drink wasn't even sweet. The side items, orange rolls, and brownies were great, so I can't say it was all bad. Our service was wonderful, and we sat in the back room and played games, so we had fun, but I won't be going back anytime soon.
