Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar Overall: ***** Highly Recommended ***** Food: ***** Value: **** Menu: **** Ambiance: *** Service: **** Parking: *** 6 stalls or street meters At a networking event, a bunch of us were discussing who had the best Ramen and John recommended Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar, specifically the Black Garlic Original Ton-kotsu ramen I tried it and it was delicious! It is now one of my top 2 ramens, along with Kamitoku’s Beefy Wild. This is a winner, if you like the rich pork broths. If you prefer the healthier and lighter shoyu broths, you may have to look elsewhere. The Golden Pork Bun was also a winner! Tender, delicious and freshly made. I was surprise to see that they have a good selection of Japanese dishes and alcohol beverages. I will definitely be going back for Izakaya dishes and drinks. Let me just start off by saying that since Goma ichi closed, I've been going to AGU. No more! I was recommended Golden Pork by a co-worker, and after finding out where it was, I discovered that it's really close to my residence. Everything that I've had there has tasted better than Agu and the prices can't be beat either. There's a wide selection of sake from what I've seen (but I don't drink alcohol, so that's a moot point). I haven't had an opportunity to try all of the appetizers, but I really do recommend the golden pork buns. They're so good that if you order the 2 piece plate, you won't want to share. As far as the main courses, so far I've had the classic and black garlic ton-kotsu, and my girlfriend had one is the tsukemen dishes. Those are the first bowls of ramen that made me finish all of the broth since I was in Japan. That's how good they were. Lastly, don't forget to get a stamp card and be a complete hipster, and post to Instagram! Get a free ramen or tsukemen after every 10 stamps!

I would have given 7 stars if Google has the golden buzzer. Visited here on Dec 26, being the 2nd customer when they opened at 5pm. When we were waiting outside, we can only see the ramen menu, but once inside, wow the menu is so great. We ordered 7 items and found out it was happy-hour. We have beer, scallops, tantan tofu salad, spicy cucumbers, fried chicken, classic ramen and 2 pork belly buns as “dessert”. It was only USD$53. How can this happen in Honolulu these days in 2023? Food and taste are awesome. Real Japanese chef making good menu. But if you are looking for a fine dining experience, walk away. This is real tasty “hole-in-the-wall” place. Expect this place to be the equivalent Japanese burger joint, accept the fishy smell when you walk in, accept customers talking loud, accept the parking is not easy to find. Come eat at 5pm when they open. Your reward is your belly full of tasty food and a happy foodie-girlfriend !!!!

Visited Golden Pork Tonkotsu Ramen Bar recently and I've got to say, the flavors here are a real journey for the taste buds! The original tonkotsu broth was rich and deeply flavorful, offering a creamy and hearty experience that I absolutely loved. I also tried the spicy flavor broth, and while it packs a punch with its heavy spiciness, I found myself leaning more towards the original flavor for its pure, unadulterated richness. The chicken karaage, on the other hand, was a bit on the dry side for my liking. It's not a deal-breaker by any means but something for the kitchen to note. Overall, this place serves up some seriously delicious ramen with broths that are bursting with flavor. It's a solid choice for any ramen lover out there. I'm giving it a well-deserved four stars. Highly recommend trying the original tonkotsu broth if you're visiting for the first time!

Had the Spicy Red Miso Dragon #2 of 3 Spicy levels with Thick Noodles option. Miso broth was very tasty. Spicyness was tolerable and quite enjoyable. Noodles were just right. The bonus was that instead of the usual slice(s) of charsiu, ther were thin slices of what believed to be pork belly. This blew me away as this tasted awesome which made this bowl of Ramen stand out from the others I have eaten recently. Overall a very good & satisfying bowl of Ramen. Started out with a Salad with what I describe as a Yuzu sauce with sesame oil infused, cabbage, corn, slivers of red pickled ginger. It was nothing very good. Also had the Pork Bun (hight recommend) and the Gyoza. Gyoza was cooked perfect with brown crispy bottoms with no grill taste and very tasty. Service was very efficient and friendly. You'll find it hard to get a bowl of Ramen this good.

Definitely a great spot for ramen. We were able to find parking on King Street but I can imagine that it might be harder to find during peak hours. The restaurant space is also on the smaller side so you may have to go on the waitlist. Service was a bit slow. As for food, I got the Golden Pork Classic, a pork bun, and gyoza. The ramen was great — it was one of the richest tonkotsu broths I’ve tasted. Noodles were good quality too, but the pork belly pieces were kind of small. The pork bun was also delicious, with a soft bun, tender pork, and tasty sauce. The gyoza was fine. It had a good texture but tasted kind of average. Maybe I was expecting a lot since they apparently only make their gyoza in limited quantities. Overall, great ramen restaurant. It wasn’t good enough to become my new go-to, but it was still worth the experience.
