On Top Barbershop — Local services in Honolulu

I recently visited On Top Barbershop, a small place with talented barbers. Daniel did a fantastic job on my men’s haircut. However, the downside was the seemingly mind-numbing "Brah talk" that pervades the atmosphere and the lack of customer service experience. On one occasion, I overheard the barbers boasting to each other about dating dynamics, bragging about leaving women, and it left me wishing for more meaningful conversations. For lack of better words, I feel dumber when listening to that type of talk, and the other customer looked uncomfortable as well. The lack of engaging dialogue significantly detracted from the overall experience. I would highly recommend that the barbers invest in customer service training and improve their conversational skills and create a more enjoyable environment for customers like myself. If this customer service and conversation aspect is improved, they could easily get happy returning customers all the time.

This place is just awesome. There are so many ways to book your appointment. Phone, IG, web, Yelp. You get a confirmation right away, as well as a reminder when booking in advance. Plenty of ample parking in back. Not hard to find the place. There are signs and detailed instructions on their website. The boys are very professional and clean. I needed to find a new barber after I noticed my last place did not clean their equipment between customers. These guys take pride in their equipment and it shows. Denis is my go to guy! Very easy to work with and he strives to do better every time I see him. Even started bringing my son to him and he worked with Denis to get the perfect cut. Give them a try. I had an incredible experience at this barbershop! Daniel took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and absolutely nailed the haircut—better than I even imagined! The attention to detail and skill were top-notch, and I left feeling more confident than ever.

On top of the great cut, the service was outstanding. Everyone was personable, professional, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. It’s clear they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their clients.
