Amazing poke, pay by the plate or by the weight. I stopped by here because it's next door to Itchy Butt Korean Fried Chicken. I had the famous "Ono Seafood Poke" the day before and was underwhelmed to say the least. This poke here put all my faith back into the fact that Oahu does poke best. I got 5 different kinds that day (sorry, I did not get photos of the shoyu poke, which actually was my favorite, or the spicy salmon, which looks just like the mayonaisey spicy ahi pictured below). The one covered in masago was amazing. Every piece of tuna was glistening with the roe. And by every piece I mean all the poke here is cut into cubes for texture. You won't find mashed up ahi or salmon here. They were out of yellowtail so I was bummed out. The spicy ahi was rich and creamy, but not too spicy to take away from the real flavor. You can always add more with condiments. The tako (octopus) was cut thin and cooked perfectly. It had the snap and texture well prepared tako deserves. I got the Hawaiian style, which includes some "ogo" limu. The limu texture really makes the tako pop even more, similar to how the masago reacts with the tuna. Lastly, the shoyu ahi is most likely their most popular, because there were two tubs of it. White onion, and bite sized cubes of fresh ahi marinated in the shoyu sauce was my favorite. Each piece was so fresh, so flavorful, slightly sweet and salty, with the bite of onion to balance it...oooof. I literally finished over a pound of poke and a huge bowl of rice and couldn't eat for the rest of the...
Read moreSuper solid five star-four star kind of place. We had three orders of the salmon belly with a side of poke and kimchee. There were five different options for keto poke and gluten-free poke. To get these, we had to ask for the options with no sugar or shoyu. The woman helping us was quick to identify the options for us.
The salmon belly was perfectly cooked. The pokes were all good, except, we weren’t fans of the Hawaiian. The house and sesame versions were good. We even got sides of more pokes to try.
This place is for sure a hole in the wall in it’s true form but the service is fast and the food ono.
Someone commented on the flies but there wasn’t a single fly to be seen.
A star is docked because the parking for this place is so lousy and sketch. And everything looks like it hasn’t been updated in years. You’ll be overwhelmed for choice for sure. My best recommendation would be to think of the kind of poke you want before going in. Also, look at photos of the menu. It’s so overwhelming. Know if you want sashimi or poke or fried fish, and the type of fish. We had salmon everything and it was...
Read moreKeeaumoku Seafood is literally the definition of a hole in the wall...
Tiny venue...there is barley any room for four people to comfortably stand inside...especially in these strange times. Parking is most definitely challenging, with a handful of narrow spaces right outside...almost always full and right next to a very busy intersection. It can be a daunting task to park your steed here. So why is this hole in the wall so well reviewed?! The food of course! There is a sign inside that says "BEST PRICE, BEST QUALITY" It's awfully hard to disagree with that statement. I reckon they actually have the best price to quality ratio on the island...phenomenal value!
