For cryin out loud change the name of the restaurant. You close at 9:30pm and don’t open til 6am, and the morning hostess is about as rude as they come. I’m up at 5, got my own breakfast before they even opened. Brought my kids down at 730 and requested the buffet for them. I was questioned (interrogated) 3x if I was going to get the buffet or order from the back as well. After saying no each time, first two times very cordially, I finally had to break it down and explain I went down the street to get breakfast at Kai Coffee since the hotel I’m staying at doesn’t have 24 hour food service as the name implies. She made sure to tell all the waiting staff I wasn’t getting the buffet as she lead us to our table. She confirmed my name and room, so I assumed payment was all sorted. Every other Hilton you stay at, you pay for the buffet and hot bar up front.

From the time we sat, until the kids finished their breakfast we weren’t acknowledged. Which is fine, I didn’t need assistance, but when we go to leave we are chased down to sign a tab with a tip option. Never even greeted by any of the servers, and I informed the hostess from the beginning the charges were going to the room, so what is there to finalize? Literally no greeting, no water, got our own utensils, and after 30 mins chased us down like we are dine and dashing for what? In hopes of a tip, maybe? It was just weird and awkward.

They explained because of Covid they aren’t 24/7 any more… ok… the excuse is getting a little worn out. Not sure how that matters in 2025 but ok. Yes, I am annoyed by the name of the restaurant impart due to my own ignorance. Took the kids on a long hike up at Ka’ena point for a sunset. 12 hour day exploring the island and we were beat. we were too tired to stop on the way home for dinner, just figured we’d get something at the hotel and head up to the room. We show up at 9:45… and guess what… kitchen was closed.

I know it wasn’t anyone’s fault on shift… but I was hot… kept it to myself.. Didn’t take it out on any of them, but man that was aggravating.

Top it all off learned the next day they are cashless which I personally think should be illegal. After that, and the whole distrust of me at the buffet lol, I Just ended up avoiding the restaurant all together. I suggest Eggs and Things or Kai Coffee a block away. Awesome service and they’re open early. Feel free to spend 9000 for month long stay… but don’t dare enter the buffet area without ordering from it… you’ll be monitored and ignored at the same time!

The young lady who works the morning though as a server was very polite and on top of things our first morning there. She was great.

Checking the reviews to see if maybe I’m just sensitive… seems I’m not only one who has issues with the hostess… and now here comes the “Aloha Dan”… save it, I’m done with Hawaii and Waikīkī, and especially MAC...

MAC 24/7 offers a vibrant, laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect for both tourists and locals. The decor combines modern elements with a touch of Hawaiian flair, making it a comfortable spot to relax any time of day. The restaurant’s open layout and spacious seating provide a welcoming environment, whether you’re visiting for a casual meal or a late-night snack.

Food: The menu at MAC 24/7 is a delightful blend of classic American comfort food and tropical flavors. Here are some highlights:

Pancakes: The giant pancakes are a must-try, especially the signature “MAC Daddy Pancakes.” They’re fluffy, generously portioned, and come with a variety of toppings to suit all tastes.

Drinks: The bar at MAC 24/7 offers a wide selection of tropical cocktails, local beers, and classic drinks. Some standout options include:

• Mai Tai: A refreshing blend of rum, lime juice, and orgeat syrup, garnished with a pineapple slice. It was my absolute favorite!! • Pina Colada: Creamy and delicious, made with fresh pineapple juice, coconut cream, and rum. • Hawaiian Craft Beers: A variety of local brews that pair perfectly with the tropical cuisine.

Service: The staff at MAC 24/7 are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Despite the busy nature of the restaurant, especially during peak hours, the service is generally prompt and efficient. The waitstaff are also happy to provide recommendations based on your preferences.

TLDR: 1 star for dishonest and unethical practices, management admitts they knowingly sale cross contaminated menu items as vegan | VV. They knowingly lie... Foodies beware, this place is shady. For anyone with serious medical|spiritual dietary practices don't eat here.

Review

If you dont have vegan options, so what... but to lie about having vegan options is diabolical

Unless you have some medical condition that will require you to call and verify menu items and cooking procedures.

M.A.C. 24/7 Restaurant and Bar managment has no qualms about bending the truth to get your business and take your money.

In the pursuit of profit M.A.C. 24/7 Restaurant and Bar uses false and deseptive advertisement to promote their establistment.

It's absolutely unacceptable for the public to have to call a restaurant to see of they're menu is truthful

When it comes to food this level of blatant deception makes it hard to see there behavior as anything less the malicious greed.

This isn't a case of a lack of consideration.. they knowingly sale cross contaminated menu items they specifically advertise as vegan.

All food is prepared and cooked | grilled on the same surfaces. No separate stations, equipment or utensils.

If a restaurant is willing to lie about their menu items, What other corners are they willing to cut?!

Hopefully this review will prevent someone from eating here and getting sick in the future.

If your food isn't kosher it's not kosher.... if your food isn't vegan and it's not vegan.

If the menu didn't say vegan I wouldn't have call to verify or even agreed to eat here or felt the need to write a review about your deceitful practices.

Vegan isn't just the item it's how it's prepared. If you're not willing to do the extra work don't lie to the public for profit.

Mahalo...

M.A.C. 24/7 isn't the makeup line all day, all week, LOL. It stands for Modern American Cuisine. ATMOSPHERE: They're located on the lobby level of the Hilton Waikiki Beach on Kuhio Avenue. The restaurant is split into two sections - a generically-decorated indoor dining room with a bar, huge booths, and a private room to the side, and a more inviting patio-like dining room with garden views. We were seated in the bar side for some reason (and not told about the other option), amongst the noise of carts being wheeled by and the constant clanking of dishes and silverware as they were cleared. MENU: Light breakfast fare, traditional & local items including a 5-lb. pancake eating challenge, Mexican, Italian and American lunch & dinner entrees, sandwiches, wraps, and alcohol. The entire menu is available from opening till closing. FOOD: Buttermilk Waffle - $12.00 I'm usually an egg with sides eater for breakfast but didn't want anything heavy so this sounded perfect. The square-shaped, homemade waffle came out hot, crispy and moist with butter on the side. It had that delicious creamy flavor that I look for in waffles. A bit pricey for just one piece. SERVICE: Oddly, we were seated immediately on a Sunday at 9am as I was expecting a wait like at most breakfast spots. Our server was friendly and professional. Food delivery was quick. TIP: Looking for a nightcap or late night drink? They serve alcohol till 3:30am! OVERALL: Pricey menu, good food, and open 24/7.

Much to our surprise, we ended up dining here more than we thought we would during our stay. Mostly due its convenience and my lack of mobility. Service was mostly good. We did have one meal where it seemed the waiter messed everything up about our order. The manager came over twice to help sort things out. No comp or discount was offered for the errors. There were a few servers who really made our visit special and we made sure to let them know via our tips. I had the avocado toast several times during our stay and it was served differently every single time. Different amounts of tomatoes, varying volume of greens, etc. The siracha aioli does absolutely nothing for the dish, btw. I will say that the spam on the side was cooked perfectly every time and tastes great with the avocado toast. The grilled cheese sandwich was a waste of money. The bread was huge and stale while the cheese was sparse. The drinks are seriously overpriced and on the small side. We tried the Waikiki Wake Up (the coffee ice cube is HUGE and will not melt for a very long time) and the lychee colada, which was tiny and nothing to rave about. As others have noted the coffee is pretty meh.
