This is the only restaurant in the entirety of the airport that has a gluten-free option.

While I was at the airport I was frantically looking for something to eat because we were informed we couldn't bring fruit on the plane to eat during the flight. I have Celiac disease and unfortunately the airlines don't have Celiac safe meals.

I asked the cashier if the salad with fish had gluten because I have Celiac disease and she said no but there could be cross contamination because it's a shared kitchen. I was like, "okay, well it's my only option in this airport so I'll take the chance." She seemed to not believe me when I said I would take it and she's like, "okay but if you have Celiac, it's a shared kitchen." I said I'd take the chance, again, because I hadn't eaten at all that day, my flight wouldn't land for 8 hours from the time of the conversation. She said she'd tell the kitchen to take precautions.

Furikake crusted ahi salad ($22.99 + tax) was fine. It could have used some more dressing but I'm glad there was something I was able to order.

This was a horrible experience in a mostly empty “restaurant.” The ramen looked decent, and I tried to take a seat at the solo dining row facing the hallway/gates. The server told me I couldn’t sit there because he was saving it for a group of people. I asked if they took reservations and he said it didn’t matter. I had to sit right next to this other solo, female traveler in the corner. The seat didn’t offer much leg room or space since it was a corner with many table legs! The woman already sitting there looked like she didn’t have much room since she also had a bag.

It was bizarre. No group of customers showed up. I passed by 20 minutes later and a solo businessman was sitting there. I guess solo female travelers get the corners…??

It was weird, and based on what I saw, the server is sexist.

I wouldn’t recommend eating here. No one looked pleased or talked with each other. It’s really close to the international departure gates. There are...

The waiter here gave us a terrible service, he had an attitude the whole time, he assumed we knew how to order and pay without telling us that they had a specific system. We order one burger but it took so long we then ask them to put it to go but the worst part was that after the burger finally arrived we noticed the waiter had put it two times on the bill so when we asked him to remove one of them since we only ordered one he didn’t know how to do it and proceeded to tell us that we either had to wait for his supervisor to arrive to the location or PAY FOR BOTH, he wanted us to pay for something we didn’t order nor received. By that time we were already being called to board the plane so we just left without anything, he was being super mean for a mistake he made and wanted...

We had a few minutes to kill before our flight to LAS. Enter Mauka Market as it's always cocktail o'clock time! ATMOSPHERE: Located in the new Hawaiian Airlines wing of HNL, I had no idea they existed. Seating was plentiful as the terminal wasn't busy. They're definitely not as crowded as nearby Stinger Ray's. MENU: Cocktails, beer & wine. Burgers, sandwiches, ramen, rice bowls and breakfast items. BEVERAGE: Mionetto Prosecco Cheap price with a matching taste that was a tad too sweet for my liking. SERVICE: Bartender greeting was immediate and service quick & friendly. OVERALL: Fair-priced menu with nice selections.

We waited 5~10 minutes to be seated during lunch rush hour (and if someone doesn’t acknowledge you, it’s just that they are working hard to move everything quickly and seem to be a bit short staffed). Quite a good menu selection with a pacific rim emphasis. We got their loco moco, which came out quickly and was really good! It had a good char and the eggs were done as we ordered them. The mac salad was also really good! This is one of the better choices when you are at HNL.
