Look how busy they are on a weekday! They also serve pho in stone pots. Came to work hangover and had to get pho for lunch. #hawaiitok #pho #phovietnam

Pho Vietnam is a great new addition to the many new Vietnamese restaurants in Oahu. My wife and I wanted to try something new so we drove through Chinatown to see what was still open on a Sunday afternoon and we looked this place up on Google and it had pretty good ratings so we decided to try it out. The first thing that we notice was the place was clean, even though it was in Chinatown, and the staff were friendly. We always make a point to order the Pho Dac Biet and give it a try and compare to the other locations and restaurants. The prices were decent as compared to the other ones around the island I guess I have to accept the fact that Pho is now costing above $10 on average. Anyway the pho came out pretty quick and I was impressed with the way the soup or broth tasted. If I had any complaints it would be the fact that there wasn't a lot of meat in the Pho. Also my wife complained that the soup was a little bit too sweet for her taste. Overall I was impressed and I plan on driving there to try them again just to make sure I didn't catch them on a good day. One of my major complaints about most Vietnamese restaurants is consistency. You go there one day and the Pho tastes good, you go there a week later and if it's thin. Maybe next visit I can give them five stars instead of four but we'll see how it goes. Update 2/10/2024 Went back to this restaurant and this time we ordered the hot bowl pho. Now I can honestly say this was the most enjoyable pho I've had in oahu. My only complaint about the pho was the bowl was a little bit too small for all of the ingredients and it started to waste outside the bowl. Super tired too salty today but it was still flavorful and good. At $19 a bowl I think it was a little bit special and I think it was worth it as compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. I'm naturally thrifty by nature and it was a bit pricey but definitely worth a try.

Tried to go to my usual Pho spot in Downtown Honolulu Chinatown but found that they open at 930am😥....and didnt want to wait another 30 minutes. I walked around and found this place on Hotel Street. Used to visit this place before for pho when it was an elderly couple but now this place looks remodeled and refurbished, clean and updated. Decided on the Pho with Short Rib since Ive seen several restaurants serving this dish. Soup was a darker, more salter base similar to the restaurant that was previously here. Price is on the higher side for this dish but you only live once🤙🤙 Veggies were smaller portions compared to where I usually go to on River Street, but the dish was good. Rib meat was a little bland so had to dip in the hoisin and chili sauce to flavor it up. Started getting crowded before I left, waitress filled up my water glass and asked how I was doing, something you dont get sometimes in Chinatown. A solid 4 stars🤙

This is one of the nicer Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown. When I say nicer, it isn't fancy or up scale, rather very clean and spacious. A lot of the other restaurants tend to be cramped and have questionable food safety. They also have an extensive menu that is far broader then most of the Vietnamese restaurants that I have gone to that seem to just focus on the basic classics.

Their sweet and sour catfish soup is impressive and 2 to 4 people could share it easily. It is loaded with lots of goodies and a great broth. They have a lot of items on their menu that are meant for sharing, so it is perfect for family style dinning.

Although green papaya salad sounds very basic for a Vietnamese restaurant, they really load up the Thai basil on it which really kicks up the fresh aspect of the dish. I wouldn't call it the best I ever had, but defiantly close to it.

They have everything from mild to wild, so I think anyone would find something they would like there. It is also nice that they have a liquor license, so you can have a beer with your meal which I think perfect with this kind of food.

Tip for you, there is a municipal parking lot on Smith St. that you can access from Bereritania just after Nuuanu for cheep park about...

I went to eat with my 7-month-old daughter and my mother who was visiting. Never in my life have I been so horribly ignored at a restaurant like in this one. I arrived and no one gave us a table, I waited at the entrance, my mom decided to sit down with my daughter and we got a table by ourselves, and still no one paid any attention to us. Minutes later, another family came in and they were immediately taken care of.

I had to go get the highchair for my baby and even the menus myself! When I came back, we were still being completely ignored. We waited to be served and I even said I was ready to order, but as soon as another family walked in, they got menus and their order taken right away.

For me this was a total lack of respect and customer service. I decided to take my daughter and leave. In my opinion, this restaurant is racist since we were the ONLY non-Asians there!

⚠️ IF YOU ARE NOT ASIAN, DO NOT GO IN! A racist restaurant with zero respect for me and my baby who only...
