So, we will add this Hoover Applebee's to the list of places we will never patronize again. We were seated right away, but in the bar area as they said that was the only area available. Ok. no problem. It took about 15 min from time were were seated to have the person tending bar come over and finally take our order. I did get a mango margarita but he never bothered to ask my husband what he wanted and walked away. I waitress came over and asked if we ordered the 2 waters. I said no, but had them leave them anyway. After another 45 min, we finally got our food, which was actually pretty good but not hot by the time we received it but we had to ask several times for silverware. The manager was seated a coupe table over from us folding napkins for part of the time and made a comment about the slow service to which I replied maybe she should get up and help out instead of just sitting there. The only person in the whole place that acted like they were working with any urgency at all was the bar tender. Everyone else gave the impression they couldn't care less. By the time we finished our meal, we waited another 10-15 min and no one ever brought our bill. No one ever checked on us to ask if we needed anything. The bartender that was there previously had left to go help out in the kitchen and another man took his place. He never checked on us. I had to stop him and ask for our bill which took another 15 min before I had to go to the bar and ask for the bill so we could pay it. He acted like I was bothering him. REALLY??? He never made an attempt to come to the table to collect so we finally took the bill back to the bar to ask if we could pay it. Again he acted like he had an attitude because we wanted to pay the bill!! The total lack of service was very disappointing because we had visited this location in the past and had great service. But we will never ever go there again. I made a comment before that it appears the only restaurants in the Birmingham area that still give great service are the Mexican restaurants. Still appears to be true. This Applebee's and the one in Pelham are horrible. Again, we will...
Read moreApril 9th incident. I didn't need to write this out of anger and disgust: I really wish that I had something good to share. I will make an attempt. The parking was great. Easy access in and out. I ordered food to go for our family if five. It was my husband's birthday. I went in and waited for someone to greet me. A gentleman was going in different areas so I knew patience and understanding was needed. After a few staff looked at me, the gentleman who had grabbed a broom earlier was the one who greeted me. I shared why I was inside (when ordering online I was given a choice to pickup inside). I was looked at with a look of confusion and sent to the bar🙄😳. I was told to let the lady at the bar know why I was there. I made it to the bar and saw the lady who went pass me and pass me again and finally, she looked irritated and asked, "May I help you." I told her that the gentleman sent me to her so that I could pick up my order. She looked upset and just walked away. She eventually spoke to the guy and had him to check on my order. I waited and waited and waited. Another gentleman came out from the back and handed me my order. I checked it and was missing a meal. I made the lady aware. She went on to another customer. I was ticked at that point. Eventually she said, "I will check on it." The guy came back out and thought he had given it to me. I spread everything out and yes, I was correct. I waited again longer. I had no utensils and asked the rude lady hosting the bar if she had any. She brushed me off with a no. I said, "Well, I need some." She threw her cloth on the counter to go get some. It was not busy at all. I didn't want to fuss on my husband's birthday. We made it home and the food was not good. Not much flavor at all. My daughter said that she has had better chicken fingers from a fast food. Choose carefully if you plan to eat at this Applebee's. I forgot to slow down in order to contact their franchise owner. I even thought to myself, "Maybe they are all not being treated fairly on the job or something." Sad and...
Read moreWe went to this Applebees in hopes of having a great time well the following happened! My sister was eating her meal and a bobby-pin she almost swallowed. Thank God it came back up! No before you say was it hers she didn’t have no hair style that required hair accessories. The waiter was only concerned about a tip. Then to top it off we waiting on our tickets to pay and my niece saw a rat running across the floor. Now checked this out they (manager and workers) said they was coming from outside through a hole in wall. Now you knew this and still chose to be open. I called the people and I called my boss but we still don’t have it fixed. One of the workers said he had to kill a couple before this one and he wasn’t about to kill that one! Ashamed for them to even try and make him do it anyway. Another one said that was the second horrible thing he saw within that week. You can’t make this stuff up. My sister had to have paramedics called! Check this out the manager knew it and the waiter still wanted her to pay for the meal. We didn’t even come looking for anything for free! This the kicker along with the other mention they called my sister to see how could they make it right. In the mist of saying that said they had given her a free meal! The manager stated he would give refunds it never happened. I’m not surprised about that either. To know you have rats running around but still serving customers is just wrong! I didn’t want to give them...
